holy shit, all u can eat, make your own Poutine!!!

hate speech on a college campus is not protected. every college has a handbook and rules you agree upon when entering a college. hate speech is one of the top reasons people get kicked off…its usually done in the form of doing anything to embarrass the campus or degrade peoples ability to learn. No being a outright racist isnt protected at all.

You’ll go to jail, lose all job prospects, lose government aid, and lose time on your life. Is that really worth it because someone is ignorant and you made the silly choice of using violence?

:coffee:

Read up on maxx’s post.

That’s TRULY rich coming from you, considering the stories you tell sometimes.

I’m going to need you to provide a source, especially since many colleges are state-run or state-backed institutions and it is illegal to make up any law that gives away your rights. It’s why you can’t offer yourself as a slave no matter if it’s your choice.

I read his post. Doesn’t mean you’re not going to jail. You 100% are and will likely face attempted murder charges depending on the severity of the injuries.

Someone saying something and someone doing something are different.

Anybody else just imagining @Raz0r banging back fat lines of yayo, while angrily trolling us all, right now? Little 90lb girly man in skin tight pleather pants, sweating at a computer, in November.

Yes, but when my judge is a resurrected Philip Banks, I’ll get away with a slap on the wrist when he finds out why I did it.

at least somebody is having a party.

To be clear, hate speech is not included as unprotected speech in U.S. law. I can say slurs all I want and you are not allowed to attack me for it. However, if I come up to you, say slurs in an aggressive manner, then that is considered antagonizing speech (or “fightin’ words”) which then are not covered by constitutional protection and thus if I get a whoopin’ so be it.

The nuances of the law, yo.

I’m working right now. Got things to do before vacation in December.

Setting a code of conduct for students regarding how to act while attending a university is the same as making laws that affect an entire state?

Yeah you in full Carson mode. Ben Carson or Carson Daly, you pick.

I was already sweating at a computer in November because it was in the fucking 80s last week.

That’s Farenheight, not Crapcius or whatever oppressive round number system you use.

So shut it.

Having to accept a code of conduct before attending a university is akin to signing a contract. Again, you cannot sign your Constitutional rights away. It is illegal in this country.

You have anything else?

srsly tho whats with this wea…

TO THE WEATHER THREAD

You’re welcome.

http://www.uc.edu/conduct/Code_of_Conduct/nonacademic-misconduct.html#nogo

i. Discriminatory Harassment is conduct that has the purpose or foreseeable effect of unreasonably interfering with an identifiable individual’s work or academic performance or of creating an intimidating, hostile or offensive work or learning environment and is based on the targeted individual’s perceived or actual race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, or gender identity and expression.

Are we done now?

This doesn’t really prove anything. No student has taken this to SCOTUS and it is my belief that if these clauses were taken that high they would, if they were doing their jobs right, protect the speech even if it’s racist. Even the ACLU agrees!
