SRK Lounge: Ring in the reign of Edward Buttholehands

That dude’s hair reminds me of the rhino boss race in Diddy Kong Racing.

Villain from some up coming post-apocalyptic radioactive wild lands movie. “I am Krell The Black and I run this territory.”

The funny thing about SF4 is how much random shit it stole from other fighting games. The blockstun one would be a decent one to test if I could find reliable frame data for some of the older games.

I was wondering why it was so nice and quiet the past few days. That fucker was at Final Round. Wonder if Epi and/or Shadow Ace ran into his bitch ass.

@manx my adopted sister is not all right. mom said she looks and sounds worse. since the doctors changed her room and nobody is allowed to visit. that’s all i know today.

White people’s reaction when their kids tell them “I love you:”

And somebody put Bobby Draper’s face on a milk carton, please? His parents forget about him mid-sentence while he’s speaking directly to them.

Mentally or physically? Either way, I hope shit works out. I could be some reality and harshness settling in.

yo these new screenshots from jurassic world are hype af

If the beating is as bad you mentioned, fully expect her to have a couple of concussions, maybe some mild brain trauma and a bit of PTSD. All of these are gonna make her do wacky shit by themselves, together they’ll form an even wackier bunch of nonsense.

The concussions are going to give her a terrible sensitivity to light, migraines, and a bad memory for some weeks; the mild brain trauma may impede some of her motor skills, cause her some to have speech that is not characteristic to her (slight slur and other odds and ends) and other random side effects depending on the extent (if any) damage; the PTSD may manifest itself in some moments of sudden irritability, inability to watch anything violent on TV (even small confrontations may be too much at times) and nightmares.

This is all on top of whatever nonsense she already had. It ain’t gonna be pretty for her in the coming weeks/months.

1:) I suppose it’s a matter of personal taste but to me they feel very floaty. The jumps however do go higher and don’t drop down as quick. The screen has to tilt up when characters jump which never happened before. Am I exaggerating, well I didn’t say they suspend in air my only point is that they are floaty at least comparatively speaking.

2:) Part of the reason this game isn’t that offensive is due to the low pushback on block. It doesn’t help that combos are no longer true blockstrings anymore which is why it’s extremely common to see wake-up attacks whenever players try to play aggressively. The blockstun in 3s and the alpha games are ideal IMO. The frame traps were far more dangerous and you rarely had to worry about mashed DPs when you rushdown.

3:) Compare how fast vega walks in ST to SF4. Compare a match between yun against akuma in 3s to the same match in SF4. The biggest reason footsies are so terrible in SF4 is due to the sluggish mobility. I mean we can overlay the walk/jump speeds of SF characters from their previous incarnations against their SF4 selves and you’ll see yourself just how much slower they are now.

4:) I don’t know why anyone would complain about it being too high in SF4. I mean compared to what chun could do in 3s, or what most BnB combos can do in alpha and ST I don’t get why anyone would say they’re too high in SF4. I mean we only need to compare the typical match length of SF4 vs older games. You can finish 3 ST rounds in the time it takes to finish a round in SF4.

5:) I got used to them in the same way I got used to the live action transformer movies existing.

As for your closing comment, I’m not hating on SF4 because it isn’t those games I’m hating on it for the flaws I perceive. Moreover the points I brought up such as the slower game speed, lower damage output, floaty jumps and decreased block stun are technically true so I don’t know how I’m misinformed. The only point from opinion is the aesthetics but everything else is a factual statement.

What I’m still getting from your analysis is: It’s not ST, 3S, or Alpha.

Your complaints, though not invalid, all stem from SF4 being a different game than what you’re used to. I can’t respect your opinion if you can’t look at the game objectively without comparing it to everything else. Is the walk speed in SF4 bad for SF4? Are the jumps too floaty for SF4’s engine? Is the damage output too low for SF4’s mechanics? Answer those questions without using the phrase “compared to older games,” and maybe we’ll get somewhere. As for right now, all you’re saying is “SF4 is bad because it isn’t 3S/ST/CvS2/A2.”

Also… Do you play SF4?

Yeah uh, i forgot how much James Pants fucking bangs in a system.

@“Shaft Agent” i still havent heard Jenny Death. And have you heard that “The Powers That B” represents the Gibbons Twins, June and Jenny? Shit gets bretty weird.

You can never really debate with someone that does not know the meaning of the words subjective and objective. I tend to just give up on people that take their subjective opinions as objective facts.

haven’t heard that Death Grips album yet. it’s in my queue.

&

my adopted sister is troubled. i’ve told a few counselors and psychiatrists that she displays literally every sign and symptom of borderline personality disorder and every time they are like “nah, she wasn’t molested. doesn’t count. she’s just arrogant because she’s such a great dancer.” i understand i’m not a medical professional, but disregarding all this evidence over one empty checkbox is infuriating.

before they moved her, mom visited the hospital. she said she wouldn’t stop shaking she was so scared. i hope this is a wake up call, but i have to remain skeptical.

Jersey

…and Raz0r died inside

Damn, man. Shaft Agent, that sounds really bad. I hope she gets better is all I can say.

Death Grips is still together?! Sweet.

Hottest girl that’s been posted in the last two lounge threads.

It’s about time.

Who really knows? Don’t believe anything they say. And since when has all of SRK started spreading eagle across the block and start fucking with DG? I remember the week Exmilitary came out, sheesh it seemed like yesterday.

Fun fact: Did you know it is Robert Pattinson playing the guitar for the song “Birds” on “Government Plates”?

Beyonce is so edgy

*Yeah, but anime (and marvel games) have air dashes and IAD’s that make jumps much quicker and faster than “normal” 2D fighters. They also have double and triple jumps so people can stay in the air longer. Same genre but the inherent game design philosophy of “anime games” is radically different. *

*Blockstun is okay for what the design is. The 4 series is a very frame trap heavy game. My only gripe with it is that most normal moves/specials aren’t very fluid or fast feeling while actually playing which makes the blockstun feel artificially longer. Jab/short/Divekicks notwithstanding. *

*The problem I said about moves not looking and feeling fluid or fast enough? Yeah, that makes the game look and feel slower. Also the slow walkspeed for the majority of the cast is a HUGE contributing factor of what makes the 4 series feel slower than many other fighting games. Those things alone wouldn’t make for a game perceived as “slow”, but those elements combined make for a game that feels and looks slower. Slower jumps than normal and slow walk speeds leads to slower standard mobility options for the majority of the cast. The majority of the cast doesn’t have divekicks, fast super jump or command runs that boost their mobility. *

*I actually agree with you. People complained about damage throughout the SF4 series lifespan. Everyones normals and specials hit like a brick back during SF4 (I actually miss that part!) and people complained (rightfully) about herp derp trade xx ultra. So the damage values were decreased in SSF4, but people complained about charge characters doing too much damage (even though the characters who needed contextual damage buffs got them) and about smart spacing defensive style being too dominant. So they nerfed the damage of everyone across the board in AE, but people complained about Yun/Yang/Seth/MAK/Buki doing too much damage AND stun during AE. Ultra? Shit, I don’t know anything about ultra tbh other than Evil Ryu hitting like a grown ass man.
*

*I’m not an OG elitist and I’m not a SF4 apologist either. But SF4 has it’s fair share of flaws which happens to be talked about a lot by OGs because a lot of things were changed. I personally felt like SSF4 was the best iteration because most characters felt like they had gotten the tools they needed (sans the new cast) and everyone could dish out good damage. You essentially went from 2 fuck ups before dying in Vanilla to being able to fuck up 3 times in SSF4 before dying. When I seen that everyone seemingly got hit with the nerf bat in the AE I jumped off ship. I played AE for a bit but it wasn’t as compelling as Super.

This is coming from a man who loves the east coast lame style patented by Eddie “I’m going to poke you until you commit seppuku” Lee. *
