pretty sure their kinda like a union…when you hire a studio…you have to use their voices. i dont think you can hire one person from one place and another from another place…at least you used to not be able to do it. thats why it wasnt a mix and match for dbz voices. they all came from one studio.
With DBZ, they were hiring a studio for a while, then they went in-house. Which is why at first they had voice actors who were woefully miscast but of good quality in their own way, then they subsequently had one guy doing 30 different voices that all sound more or less like a constipated version of the cookie monster.
i just used that as an example since most people know the story. but take greg ayres im pretty sure hes a studio guy, thats why he gets picked for some stupid roles he should not be voicing. almost like its sag of voice acting…you gotta take these dudes when you pick this studio.

It’s less that Hiragana and Katakana are “children’s languages” than that they’re just the most basic part of Japanese before it decided to borrow mostly overly complex logographs from the Chinese that became “Kanji”. I mean, I guess I can see what you mean with regards to the fact that Japanese kid’s books likely have minimal kanji, but neither writing systems are restricted to children in Japanese. It’s just that most adult publications use kanji for most applicable words. Katakana’s mostly for foreign words anyway.
Kanji’s the only difficult one to learn.
