I remember at last year’s evo I was talking with my friends about “dream killers”. You know, the kind of old schooler who doesn’t really play seriously anymore but just competes at evo with a “whatever” attitude, just playing for shits and giggles, but then ends up crushing some noob who was looking forward to making it far in the tournament and had been practicing hard online.
I didn’t really play sf4, but mvc3 I might give a chance. And kill some dreams. But probably won’t go to evo this year, so next year.
Bring back shields and arcade. Rep is an iffy issue along with join dates, but arcade and shields dont hurt the community. I have only been here 2 years, but I have felt the impacts. Premium has zero draw anymore. There are ads, there are no skins, the forum is dead, and you pretty much pay for a bigger AV. Thats it.

well that’s why I stuck to marvel super heroes because the start button isn’t a taunt, it’s how you switch the order of your gems. So when you press mk you still get mk, it just also switches your gems. Although the lk was also buggy and would come out on its own so basically i couldn’t block the entire time
I never see you playing SF online. And I have yet to play with you online yet. I always wonder why…

I started with the individual character forums, and the SFIV forum, until I saw how horribly that forum was handled. Lurked GD after like a year of being elsewhere on SRK, kinda learned who the players were, and the mods, then slowly started posting on here. I still feel some of the best debates happen here. People get stupid, the rest of us calm the situation down, or deal with it flat out. The MvC3 discussions didn’t become stupid out of control wishlists, or flamewars, FAQs.
I’d love to post on #SRK-Lounge or whatever, but I haven’t used mIRC in about a decade lol…i’d love a refresher on how to get on that shit with you boys. I should download Polaris mIRC tonight, unless something better has come along since then.

apparantly its for real. I think it’s more of a ‘don’t login to post one useless line in the Lounge’. This place would get REALLY bad REALLY quick if people answering questions or pointing something out, had to suddenly come up with 2-3 more sentences of whatever just to avoid getting a warning/suspension/etc.
so going to GD lounge just to reply to a Shaft Agent post with “you still love dem calves” would be a bad thing, whereas “the release date of MvC3 is Feb 15th” would be acceptable. I hope.

Hail to the new lounge thread. I’m just glad that the last one wasn’t closed due to trolling or some other negative influence. I guess trimming the fat once in a while is a good thing, but every 1,000 posts? Might be a little too often IMO. I’d say about every 5,000 for a nice, fat number or maybe every three months. The problem about Bang the Machine is that there are a load of copyright issues on the music, and the film cannot be edited, because the original film was burnt up at the WTC during 9/11. There’s no way they’re ever going to release it for watching outside of going to Evo.

The thing that has me most excited about mvc3 is that it may be a game that will have me want to just sit in training mode for hours at a time just practicing combos and execution and whatever else comes to mind. A game that will make me want to just practice.
I spent hour upon hours in mvc2 practice Mode and I hope that mvc3 can bring that back (most likely to a lesser extent though).
I don’t remember why it was at the WTC exactly, but I think it was because the director of the film was a professional director, and they were storing it there. You should probably ask one of the Cannons or Wizard for the reasoning.
