It is pretty sad how that a lot of what this community stood get ignored. Kinda interesting how this guy is having a hard time with canon spikes and thinks he’ll be able to somehow hang in marvel (oh shi- he just said he had never played any of them, that will be lols).
TS? I said that awhile ago and multiple times. What, you only find my posts worthy to remember when it pertains to me being negative or hatin’ on Capcom?
And TheDamned, what enrages me besides the movies themselves is the fact that *just because * the movies make everything all nicey-nice and to their fantasies they will completely overlook at how ridiculous it all is. Even if you tell them they will deny all it and act if I am some movie critic or something. As if you need to study films to be able to point out the obvious shit like that.
Play Ryu, like you do in every other game. I will be saddened if you do not. After seeing your posts in the subforum, I’ve always wanted to play you in MvC2 you know…if I end up doing anything with the game I will expect you to allow me a few matches.
Perhaps I just didn’t see that post or set of posts…you did say it was a while ago, I don’t make it a point to read every single page in the thread Tech. It’s not that your posts are only memorable if they are negative it’s that 99% of them are negative so it’s the most prominent characteristic you display. Don’t be mad if the only thing you remembered for is being a whiny bitch, it’s the persona you put forth more often then not.
The difficulty of making games makes me have a greater respect for game developers, and Nintendo in particular for making SMB, seeing as how tough it is to recreate it. I can understand how someone could get sick of a game after working on it for so long. Despite the hardships, I’m happy to be programming again, especially video games.
EDIT: Hi Juicebox! This is the first time I’ve seen you in the forums.
Oh i have mad respect for devs and haven’t given up on trying to make at least one video game…but it sure is fucking hard. Every little thing matters. One wrong keystroke and the whole thing goes to pot. It’s horrible man haha. But yea couple years ago when i first tried making a game and seeing just how damn hard it was, was when i started having a different outlook on games that aren’t perfect and started me on the path of frustration and annoyance at how easily people blow off a lot of really good games as “crap” for asinine reasons and overall pettiness of the subject.
Most fighting games, given time, evolve to something quite different that it was when it started. Just look at how CvS2, A3, 3S, and MvC2 changed from start to finish.
Anyone remember how “broken” Rock was when CvS2 first came out?
“This motherfuckers lv3 can punish a whiffed jab at half screen, fuck this game” fuck this game. and don’t even get me started on his s.RH
Gotta love those week 1 tiers.
That’s true but also we didn’t have the information sharing, speed and community analyzing he have now. While I dislike a lot of things FG communities do these days, let’s be honest here - they figure out shit QUICK. They break games quickly and learn tricks, glitches as fast as lightspeed. Part of it is because people are so eager to “get recognized” for finding something first.
Stuff just doesn’t stay hidden anymore. I also think it might be debatable that part of this is the games themselves. Devs are doing more testing (both locs and in-house) so stuff doesn’t slip out they didn’t intend. And then on top of this we have DLC updates and stuff.
So no, I don’t agree that “hey give it time guys, it will be different in 10 years”, I think there will be changes/new discoveries yeah. But not as drastic as in the past.
