I would say that it did play SOME role but after reflecting on the relationship with her I can see that it would have never worked out cause she wants the world without any of the hard-times and she was controlling as fuck so it’s nice to get away from that. I was always the one that had to bend over backwards for a girl that majority of people here wouldn’t touch and never supported anything I wanted to do outside of get a high paying FT job.

The girl I’m dating now is the complete opposite and it’s really strange having to get used to somebody who isn’t “dumb.”

Real talk, I’m glad you were able to see the wrong in your previous situation and find a better girl.

I think the real eye-opening thing is that a girl who has known me for all of 3 or so moths is more supportive of me going to school and learning shit/ transferring to a university than a girl who was with me for 2 years.

I’ve applied to soooo many minimum wage job. The reason I got the job at Kroger’s is because they were hosting a job fair and you could get an interview by walking in; but no one in town wanted me to scrub their toilet or what not. It’s like what Epidemic said, they typically look for teenagers out of HS for those jobs. I’m almost to the point of where I’m gonna have to start drawing from my 401k. That crazy lady really fucked up sideways and up.

I don’t think I want to work in a corporate office environment. Engineering is just like any other job. Watch the movie Office Space, except that the 6 managers the dude has to change cover sheet of his TPS reports are all petulant child and need their ego stroke. Luckily, the interview for that manufacturer was for a pump test engineer position so plenty of time to spend in the shop.

If I get that position for test engineer, good. If I don’t, then good. I’ve been doing some soul searching. I think I want to go towards the route of law enforcement. Crazy huh? Welp, this was gonna be my tenth year being an engineer. If I stick with it, I would have to wait until all of those fucking worthless baby boomers die off and then we can start moving up real fast. But man fuck if I want to drag myself into another dreadful day in a soul sucking day in a office, wearing stuffy clothes trying to impress other people, another day of fearing of what little perturbance of air might get the oh-so-mighty boss upset, another day of watching the clock so I can hit the gym/dojo/whatever. So far what I’ve done, I’ve been working on getting all my stuff together to get my application through the system. I’ve also been lucky to have acquired a mentor who will make the application process smoother. The application process is loooooooonnnng.
