It’s just the last hopes and dreams of DC fans dying a little more of seeing Warner Brothers ever do the DC IP justice to even be a shadow of what the MCU has become. 
Not all that good, but not as bad as people say. Worth watching at least once, IMO.

DC seems to have gone ads backwards about everything. Marvel went in with a long term game plan and they are working meticulously hard on getting right. DC should’ve copied the playbook but instead they are trying to armchair quarterback it.
If they were really serious about it they should’ve started things over proper and let that ride. Instead they let one ok movie from three years ago be the start.
Suicide Squad still feels weird to me. Marvel built a lot of good will to leading up to Guardians. That’s kind of why they could get away with a bunch Of characters that were relatively unknown. Instead they start there and work their way up to justice league dumbass way. Could’ve done teen titan but hey the killed robin.

The most “surprising” thing about Suicide Squad is that from everything I’ve heard about it, both good and bad, is that it might actually be the most light-hearted of the recent DC movies since goddamn Green Lantern–or maybe Jonah Hex, not that anyone saw that–despite the fact that of all the DC franchises with movies thus far, it is the one most easily justified to be as dark and grim as Snyder’s films.
The sheer amount of irony there is just sad.
Batman given how edgy, dark, and “realistic” that would be for the utterly unstable, non-heroic version of him that Ben Affleck is playing?
