Not sure, it was pretty substantial (10K+). He attended one of the more reputable coding boot camps in Austin, which you probably could guess has the tech hookups.
I had another friend who was an instructor at a relatively new code boot camp which ended up zero success with students finding programming jobs and that cost around 8K. You are paying for the networking imo since everything they teach you can be learned by yourself online.
Is that coding stuff easy to pick up? I did Fortran and Matlab in college. Not sure how much that stuff translates.

Depends on you. You can also start at Codecademy and/or Udemy. The have free and paid sections. Had an ex-coworker pay $10g for a three month course. He did walk off at one point, but a counselor chased after him. Sat him down and he persevered.
His advice. Study up beforehand as much as possible if you do go to one. He has the gift of gab and ended up getting a teaching job there. Not sure if he’s actually programming .

It’s moderately difficult to learn, what’s hard about coding as a profession is the tediousness of the activity at 8 hours a day.
IMO it’s not a stable profession unless you want to re-train all the time, plenty of stuff pays better, ton of a young talent coming in and your going to be unemployable with antiquated skills by 40.
Don’t pay for coding courses… if you do your teachers probably going to be assigning free resources already available on the web.

- Google, at most your buying an ebook off amazon.

Been watching a great show called Yamishibai. It’s an anime with a series of short episodes, four and a half minutes each, about Japanese horror legends. Each one ending with the protagonist dying in a horrible, ambiguous way. Some are pretty dumb, but most are solid. I’d say check it out

If you thought the programming you’ve already done was easy you may well be ok. If you’re like the MEs I took Fortran with who were going to the professor for help with a for loop you may want to pursue other options.
