Nothing wrong with a simple marinade actually, but you need to add an acid like a vinegar or a citrus juice alongside your oil or else it isn’t really doing anything.
It seems dumb, but actually it’s a good move. The 1/8" headphone jack is actually 50 years old and is responsible for a lot of things, including making phones thicker than they really need to be.
The biggest plus that’s going to come from this though is that sound quality will improve. Instead of taking digital music (your MP3s, spotify streams, etc), using the jack’s digital-to-analog converter to convert that music to an analog signal your headphones can utilize, and having the analog “version” of that digital signal be fuzzy, this new technology is going to just cut the foreplay and keep the signal digital, which means you’ll be listening to the music as it was intended rather than an analog rendition of it. It’s actually kind of the opposite problem the recording world had once Pro Tools and digital DAWs started being used more.
If anything, this means bluetooth headphones will be more viable than they are now in terms of sound quality. So while this disrupts things for awhile, it’s going to be a good thing in the long run, and I say this as an Android user. Bluetooth is great, but it needs some work and I’m all for anything that makes existing tech even better.
I have the Note 7. Just got a third notification that strongly suggests I immediately power down and exchange my device. The problem is, VZW is a clusterfuck and no one can give you a definitive answer on how to best proceed for an exchange. Samsung claims that they are providing a temporary phone to use until the new Note 7s are available, but VZW reps are clueless about this. That’s not a huge deal to me since I have my S5 to use, but it is inconvenient that no one can tell me when I can get my Note 7 exchanged for another.
To make matters worse, the US CPSC is now involved, which is going to slow down restocking the new models that don’t explode. Customers with the Note 7 are supposed to get priority when the new models become available, but VZW isn’t participating in the interim device program and if you exchange it, it’s going to be for a device other than the Note 7, and it’s permanent. If you refund it, you go to the back of the line and lose priority.
I considered going for an iPhone for the first time ever, but the lack of a headphone jack ruined any chance in that happening. I already have a really nice set of ear buds that I wouldn’t be able to use unless I carried around an adapter, and could not use while charging. No thanks, Apple. I get you’re trying to push the industry and make changes like you did with the iMac and USB, but fuck that.
So this sucks. I really like this phone- best phone I’ve ever had. But I don’t want to blow my dick off with it exploding in my pocket, so I’m kinda at a loss about what to do. I could just continue to use my S5 and hope that the new Note 7s become available sooner than later (since I actually bought the damn thing, I’d like to be able to use it), or exchange it for an S7 or S7E. I’m going to the Verizon store to go look at them today.
You have to contact Samsung directly and they’ll take care of you. You don’t get the replacement from the carrier. All they’re obligated to do is return or exchange the phone.
If you’re in the US, just wait. Your phone is fine. Europe, though? Put that shit in a bomb shelter.
I just got a s7E and I can honestly say it’s the best phone I’ve ever had. It’s got the biggest batter of the s7, Note 7 and S7e although it’s not quite as hotrodded as the Note 7 is. Either way, you’re going to have a great phone. I was looking at the Note and other than the upgraded processor I couldn’t really see a huge advantage over the one I got but maybe I’m missing something. I wouldn’t use the stylus so…
Btw, I support all this country music on this page! Can’t have country without some Possum! This is the original version of that song Chris Stapleton recently had a hit with.
