Complicated. Wireless = interference, and in cases of people snooping in on you, encryption. That makes it more bloated in terms of data usage and latency.
Redundant. Having a jack and/or wires doesn’t change a thing. So why not allow that option if people wish to use it? So Apple can save .002¢ on jack installs?
Innovating is one thing. Forcing innovation is entirely different. Colloquially, that’s referred to as “being an asshole.”
i believe that apple has been very consistent though. every time they bring out something new, they always end up forcing their own agenda on the shmucks who keep lapping up their products. their rigidity on how they want consumers to abide by their terms has been a good sign for how much they care about sticking to a plan and following through. that plan is about being dicks, basically.
These are both more expensive. How come no one said shit about these? When Apple does it, though, everyone has something to say…even though they have no intention of buying anything Apple.
And before you guys start with the bullshit, I concur that these AirPods, and all fully wireless earbuds, are dumb as fuck.
The 7 comes with an adapter to use wired headphones.
Disney covered up Jasmine from neck to toe to restore her modesty because too many complained about Jasmine showing stomach and wearing pants being too slutty “inappropriate”, but we all know this isn’t enough because Arabian women not covering up their heads is still problematic. Meanwhile, nobody cares about Aladdin being pretty much topless.
(Such another wonderful non-issue addressed instead of doing actual shit to help anyone for people who supposedly care. Whee.)
For the record, no one cares about Aladdin being topless because Aladdin is a slut, which people would only find problematic if he was female. [/whom I am insulting here]
I do not follow smart-phone related bullshit, so I have to ask the obvious questions here given your mostly rhetorical outcry: Did Samsung make as big a deal about “going wireless” as Apple did? Similarly, did Samsung force people to have wireless headphones or use some adapter just to use wired headphones?
Given all I know about Samsung’s latest phone is that it currently spontaneously combusts, these are genuine questions, oh @AppleDefender @“Phantom Angel”.
If you don’t care enough to know anymore than that, this conversation need not occur. It’d be pointless, as I’d have to explain a whooooole lot of shit just for you to default to Apple hate regardless.
But, yes, Samsung made a bigger deal about going wireless. They did everything but remove the headphone jack. I don’t like that Apple did that either, but I personally stopped using wired headsets a long time ago. I’m unaffected. At the very least, they included the adapter so people still had the option.
I know when it comes to Apple, the hate crew will complain just to complain, but this is some serious bias. It’s borderline illogical how you’re going to attempt to differentiate two companies doing the same shit, especially considering that the one being demonized actually committed the least of the evils.
Speaking of the Note 7… How come nobody is outraged about that shit? They got a $900 phone exploding in people’s faces, and no one got shit to say. I gotta explain to concerned customers that their kids won’t end up hospitalized for playing with a phone they just purchased, and ya’ll mad at some wireless earbuds that aren’t even close to new or exclusive. Apple announces some products no one has to buy, and the world is up in arms. It’s amazing.
(So it was not mandatory? Right. That what I was thought, but I was and still am too lazy to check at present.)
If that was not actually the case, then, yeah, it would be a double standard, but that does not seem to be the case unless there is something else I am missing here, @“Phantom Angel”.
All of this is optional, nigga. If you don’t like the lack of a headphone jack, don’t buy the phone. The fuck are you crying about? The AirPods aren’t mandatory, either. You buy them if you WANT wireless earbuds. You can still use wired headphones with an iPhone 7. They come with wired headphones AND an adapter to use the ones the phone doesn’t natively support. So, again, the fuck are you crying about?
And the question was if Samsung made as big a deal as Apple about going wireless. They did. Simple as that. “Optional” or “mandatory” doesn’t matter. They’re emphasizing wireless technology.
I don’t hate Apple. I don’t hate Samsung either. I’m just not a biased fanboy who just looks for shit to complain about instead of staying in his lane.
