Virtually everyday I am required to dress “professionally” because I’m either seeing patients at the hospital or teaching on campus. Basically that means I don’t get to wear anything fun, and when I go home and look at my collection of t-shirts that I only get to wear on the weekends it makes me sad.
Maybe my patients and students would appreciate Gengar, Chun li, Princess Zelda, Jean Grey, and Maleficent. I understand not looking like a bum, but for fuck’s sake how dangerous is it to have a bit of fun and have some personality to your clothes?
You can dress up for us instead. Maybe twirl around as we throw peanuts at you?
Be sure to be wearing a push up bra and shorts so everyone can see if your calves are wack or not dawg.

Recently changed jobs and before it was dress shirt and slacks and dress shoes. Now it’s dark jeans and just a collar on the shirt at least. And it doesn’t feel like work quality has gone down due to that. I mean like you said don’t look like a bum, but in the end who really gives a shit right? That shouldn’t change how you are viewed the same way someone wearing a beer shirt doesn’t make me think the person is an alcoholic.

I don’t understand why people are so into “casual” dress at work tbh. I for one am all about suits, the brilliant thing about a suit is that anyone can look good in them. A suit will automatically take you from 6 to 8, why would you not want that?

I Work in a hospital. I Wear jeans almost every day. The salt levels from other people who don’t understand are off the chart.

I keep telling myself that what makes wearing my weekend clothes special is that I don’t wear them every day.
I’ve found a happy medium with my new work wardrobe. The shirts are all from a thrift shop. While they aren’t as quirky as some of my other shirts, they do have more personality than plain clothes. Best part is that they’re so cheap. I do the thrift shop feat through the work week now.
