You can definitely see the influence in the game but poorly executed. Like, in GG, your Slash button is usually a great long-range tool to help you start your offense. In SFV, MP is usually this tool, but all are really stubby and are only really good for a handful of characters like Ryu, Ken, Chun, Nash, and R. Mika. They get GG-type combos off of their medium punches. The rest of the cast? They eat dicks. And because they hated how OP that shit was for the OG characters, they decided to give the DLC ones even worse Slash-style buttons so they can’t even hang in the same league. The pretty much actively made sure they ended up no higher than mid-tier no matter what other tools they had because they lacked a fundamental one that the top tier all have.
They wanted you to break pressure by using a special gauge but they combined it with another special gauge so now you have to balance your resources even more and try to see if it’s even worth using. I wouldn’t have a problem with this if you could build meter as easily as you could in GG, but you can’t. Not with everyone, anyway. So your options when you’re on defense are weak as shit. In GG, you have your Dead Angle AND you had Burst. A Burst-style break that refilled would’ve fit well in this game where some characters can combo you for 60% damage. Alas, they didn’t opt for it. Instead, you better hope you don’t eat a s. MP from Ryu or you can kiss 40% of your health goodbye with nothing to do about it.
They are also trying other meter-related stuff like you see for GG’s Zato, Sin, ABA, and others. I liked this idea, but so far it’s not really impressive. Ibuki has her kunai for pressure but it takes a long time to refill her stock unless you’re CONSTANTLY doing it one by one and they’re easily deflected from any angle. Juri has it, too, but it’s more of just a visual representation of what you have in stock than anything else. It’s worse than in SF4 because at least in that game your opponent had to remember what the hell you had charged before trying to get in on you. I get that it opens up buttons for Juri to use but she also loses surprise which is just as important.
I guess, in short, just go play Guilty Gear. It rules.
To be fair I’m kind of an idiot and it looks like there are ones that you can get as the BASE BASE model MSRP for high 60s. But i looked at the C7 2LZ when comparing the Nismo GTR and the Z06 when comparing it to the premium package GTR. I think the base model corvette vs base model GTR, the vette might actually be a better price but I think they’re at least comparable. Corvette is definitely a great choice. I’m a huge fan and they are reasonable price and perform insane on the track.
For the most part I don’t buy games right away unless I’m pretty confident in the product/company. I Mena we have assassin’ 's Creed fucking not working. Microsoft can’t get halo games they’ve made before working at launch.
I much prefer waiting to play (fighting games a slight exception) a game after it comes out and I can read some reviews.

I just noticed another one saying “kid” referring to a 25 year old dude on a HLN show…he corrected himself shortly after saying that, but goddamn that little shit is annoying man… it is STUPID…calling people kids----people who have been old enough to vote, be finished with an undergraduate degree and possibly a masters and legally purchase alcoholic beverages for QUITE some time. That is not a goddamn “kid”. This is something that has annoyed me ever since I first heard it even in casual conversation, shown in movies and television.
Currently on Nancy Grace-- (*where I heard the mention of a “kid” just now, referring to a guy that’s 25)— guy allegedly kidnapped a little girl and surprise surprise—allegedly raped and killed her. Well, his life is over as it should be, if convicted. Y’know, we don’t even really need a death penalty for something like that…because the other inmates will “take care” of things eventually.
I saw some bullshit about the prisons in Norway or wherever it was— this was floating around facebook recently… I still don’t agree with that absurd garbage. It is absolutely insane to me that people who have been convicted of serious crimes like mass murder (e.g. Anders Brevik) should have a living situation that is equal or even better than that of law-abiding citizens. That is unbelievably insane and retarded.
Man…I was pissed the other day. I’ve been playing Dragons Crown on the Vita. I played for about 30 hours or so. I thought I had an old save uploaded to psn and I downloaded it. I knew it would overwrite DaSlut so I copied that shit so I would have two saves. Turns out I had two saves uploaded. DaSlut is no more.
Ugh damn fever. It’s funny how you want to be sick as a child to ditch school, but dread that shit when you’re an adult and want to make money. Also there’s no one to take care of me. It’s times like these where it would be nice to have a GF to look after me.
