Nope. Everybody dies. There is a scene toward the end of the story where everybody gets killed simultaneously. Mr. Satan is spared. I don’t remember why. Not a big fan of that whole era.

i still can’t get over how amazingly hype i was for finally getting new DBZ episodes
my hype levels were equaled only by my subsequent disappointment with the new voice acting. Holy cow was it bad. I actually met sean schemmel (goku VA) at an akon and told him i thought they all needed some work.

I stopped watching because the voice acting was so horrible. the pinnacle of DBZ dubbing were the Pioneer movies using the Ocean VAs. No censoring, OG music, voice actors who did a great job with the material given rather than just phoning it in or growling to sound important.

Thought she got turned into chocolate. Also, because it’s nice to understand that not everybody got exposed to the show growing up. I’ve never seen all of DBZ. Finished Namek and didn’t watch the rest. I know what happens, just haven’t watched it.

I believe the original intent of Kai was to develop a version of the show that moved at the same pace as the manga. Which is an awesome idea. It’s a shame it didn’t work out in the end.

i say if your working 4 hours here and there and can make a living off of it…these voice actors are hella caking. the guy who does rufus told me when i interviewed him 2 weeks ago how he just does 4 hour sessions usually just a couple times a week maybe twice a day.

Thats why they don’t take it seriously, and why most old school people don’t like dubs. Not like we love reading subtitles all the time. It’s just bad voice acting is a distraction. Shit there are so many shows out there thay have bad va’s in the original shows. Of course thats more of hearing the same stupid voices in the same type of roles.

It got canned at the end of the Cell games. It wasn’t doing tremendously well, and the last episodes they put out had the misfortune to coincide with the tsunami and ensuing news coverage. Kai in Japan is no more, and if it’s no more there, it’s (eventually) no more here.
