I always feel bad for Jim Carrey. He’s a pretty good actor and (I think) I like every non-comedy film he’s been in. Just once you start somewhere in show business you’ll always be that dude so he doesn’t get all the respect he deserves. I’ve known him since In Living Color so that’s a pretty good place to start.

I used to see him do comedy around Toronto WAAAAAY back in the day. He’s one of my favourite comedians from way back. I still hear rumours of a Fire Marshall Bill movie. He has to go back and just be silly, without relying on the movie or storyline itself to carry the comedy. He also has to end this stupid “I don’t do sequels” bullshit (he only did Ace Ventura 2 because he was contracted to). I seriously haven’t enjoyed a SINGLE thing he has done in almost a decade, maybe even more than a decade.

I am amazed that a ton of Jim’s movies have sequels where people pretty much pretend to be Jim being one of his characters (Ace Jr, Dumb & Dumberer, etc)

Also, he dated crazy ass Jenny McCarthy. Fuck that bitch and her dumb ass crusade against vaccination.

I understand. My regular group of friends don’t play fighting games and the people I play fighting games now outclass me even more so its weird. Regular group of friends play random boardgames and card games (you can find a lot of the old card games for cheap now, buy boxes, build decks and have fun). Shotouts to Starcraft: The Boardgame. Even though it has a million things going for it it is still hype as shit.

Also try the D&D boardgames. They’re all set up so nobody has to DM and plays like a simplified version of 4th edition. I can recommend Return to Castle Ravenloft; some of the set ups are stupid hard though.

I think a lot of people don’t realize that Jim Carrey is probably one of the most honest actors around. He truly draws from himself when he plays more subdued roles, and it shows. When not “in character” he’s apparently very shy and introverted, based on what his friends say.

While we were learning the Starcraft board game he flipped out at one of the things in FAQ, went on a rant for 20 minutes on how that was for tournament players and all these other shit and then decided that it was now house ruled.

Hopefully none of that nonsense is going on with your group.
