Pennsylvania has agreed to sell off all public land to the highest bidder so they can “do as they wish to get the oil” under it… aka fracking.
public land includes state parks, state colleges (like my alma matter), libraries, etc. Penn State, is NOT a state school, however. There are 14 of them. East Stroudsburg, Bloomsburg, Kutztown, West Chester, Cheyeny, Clarion, Shippinsburg… to name a few.
That’s all “public” land.

What bothers me is that this has been on the table for 3 months, and the residents of PA are so fucking oblivious to everything, it was passed.
I live in Upstate NY now, and the people are INCREDIBLY vocal about fracking, whereas in PA… much more laid back, which has its pros and cons. Pros of being laid back is that the state troopers and regional police, at least in NE PA wont pull you over unless you’re going over 15mph above, and the county sheriffs wont pull you over unless you’re going 20mph above. They also wont pull you over for talking on your phone while driving… The cons to the PA laid back attitude is things like this.
