I got a female at work that juggles two jobs and has a kid. Two jobs because she had the kid too early. Now she says she never has any money but now she wants another kid. All happy about it. She won’t be working two jobs while pregnant. There goes around half her income. Does she care if the father wants to have more financial strain? Nope. He works already. Why not work him even more so he has nothing for himself all because of her selfish desires. It’s terrifying that men and women assume that all of us want in on that.
I don’t think this actually happens. Maybe in small pockets here and there, but not enough to characterize the whole. By any reasonable standard, our religious discussions are pretty civil.
But, if we’re going to generalize the bad elements, here’s how it usually goes: whenever atheists make any statement about belief, they’re assholes. When religious people make a claim and defend it with an argument that is clearly groundless and/or faulty in some way and somebody bothers to point it out… atheists are still assholes.
