so, i didn’t want to post this in the tech talk section, yet, hoping a resident lounger will be able to provide some ideas as to why my stick suddenly started acting all sorts of fucked up.
the stick: a mas i’ve had since 2000, which has worked perfectly until yesterday
the issue(s): i turned on my ps2 and when to select a game, only to have the thing automatically start scrolling to the bottom of the list of games without me touching it. pressing up will move it up, but then immediately go back down on it’s own. i manage to get into hokuto no ken and once i’m in shit gets real fucked up. without me touching a single button i start boosting until i’m out of meter. so i’m like ok that’s fucked up, let me go to the button config and see if i can swap buttons around? that’s when shit gets real. as soon as i’m in button config they just start changing on their own. like for real everything is randomly switching around and i haven’t even touched a single button. i switch out the stick for a dpad and get things sorted out how they should be, then hook up the stick again. this time i’m constantly taunting, with a mas. i mean they don’t have fucking turbo and afaik you can’t just hold the damn button and repeatedly taunt so how in the fuck is this happening?
the button config thing was really nonsensical and at this point the stick is unusable. anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? i would like nothing more than to have this thing fixed and back to good as new, the way it had been for 12 years.

Man how can you read generic superhero crossover nonsense like Fear Itself after coming down off Sandman? You are sipping fine cognac and then getting blitzed with green beer, your insides will get all messed up.
For The Man Who Has Everything is a fantastic Superman story, I am actually very ashamed that I didn’t list it. The Nail…I thought was pretty mediocre. I mean all What If? ideas are pretty inherently neat, but the execution of this one was kind of meh. Some people love it, some people don’t - there’s a certain fun in figuring out yourself what side you fall on.
I think Daredevil is the best superhero monthly out right now. Mark Waid is king.
I also really like Invincible, but I’ve been reading that so long that I can’t even tell if I have a bias towards it or not, the objective quality of this book is unknown to me. Easily the goriest comic out there though, which is pretty surprising always. You guys read the last one? HE SQUEEZED HIS HEAD OPEN, WHY!?!
I like the premise behind Fear Itself, and some of my favourite characters are in it. I mean, how often does Juggernaut get used anymore? And to be completely honest, I just wanna see Deadpool vs Walrus. And besides, I’m going from Sandman, to DC One Million, to ???, to
I love the What If’s. I have almost every Marvel one. And how can you diss Amish Superman vs Jimmy Olson?
My roommate keeps trying to get me to read Invincible. Maybe I should. Daredevil does not interest me.
For what it’s worth I only got like 4 or so of the Waid Daredevil, but his confrontation with Cap was worth it honestly. The colors and inking are gorgeous.
I will check it out, but as I stated earlier, I have no interest in daredevil. I never liked the character, the premise, his history, his battles, or his enemies even. As a character, he just never appealed to me. Kinda like Green Arrow lol.
We really need a general comics thread in GD.
Also, all the people using the SFxT DLC characters online makes me smile a little inside. I’d love to see Capcom, Sony, and MS ban a couple hundred thousand people due to Capcom making a colossal mistake.
She sucks to me cause they made her talk and she sounds so dumb. Kinda like what happened to Blanka from Super SF2 to Alpha 3 another character that shoul have NEVER talked.

Okay… so Tony/Plutonian had a crazy stalker after him named Modeus. Dude is a genius. Tony’s greatest enemy because he wanted Tony all to himself. Built sex bots of Tony. Took over his dead best friend’s body to get closer to him; he’s gay for Tony so bad. So now he took over the body of the one woman Tony had sex with. Gained so much power he was able to over power Tony. The issue ends with Modeus, in the body of a woman, proceeds to pretty much rape Tony and rides him like a horse.
Thoughts?
Also, I’m trading in SFxT. The game gives not an ounce of satisfaction. They made Ryu fun I’ll admit that. And Kazuya/Akuma cross arts please my inner fanboy. But this game…ugh nothing is satisfying to do at all.

I am still somewhat enjoying it, but I am taking a break while I wait for them to properly patch it. Getting rocked by timeouts, infinites, and the occasional DLC character, does not make this a fun experience. I still hold out hope that once they get their shit together, this will be a much better game, but as it stands now…it’s unbalanced, impossible to win unless you run the clock or ass rape your opponent, jumping (and various other controls) are a fucking nightmare, and its just a plain old train wreck of awful. Capcom dropped the ball on this one, and released it WELL before they should have. I am, however, waiting on them to fix this issue.
Still HELLA pissed off they are charging for the DLC characters. I know its only 20 bucks, but this time its the principle. You obviously had the money to make all the extra characters, and they’re ready now. Holding onto them, and charging for their release at a MUCH later time, is a bitch move. And fucking Christian Svennson for telling the capcom fans that they jumped to conclusions about the DLC.

Fuck you capcom, I will buy an occasional fighter from you, but I have officially added you to my very very very small blacklist. No more RE games, no Asura’s Wrath, no more Mega Man. Sounds like you need a new actuator, maybe more than one. Could be some screwy wiring. Did you open it up and have a look?
p.s. I wouldnt worry about the button thingy. Thats probably just because your stick is doing the auto down-forward/backward on you so its just constantly changing the buttons when you go into the button configuration screen.
One of the few small things that irks me about SFXT is that I’ll be in a match and I’ll be couching and Kazuya will throw out his setp-kick a mid attack, said attack will still hit me even though I’m blocking properly. I may be the netcode but that shit annoys me. I still have faith that Capcom will get it shit together and fix it via patches. It’s an “ok” game not crap but not great either.
I haven’t had any time-outs yet I do agree with getting destroyed thing but that’s probably cause of the silly netcode not registering me blocking shit. Still better than KOFXII’s netcode.
Only Capcom game I actually enjoyed this gen was DMC4. Figured you’d like what happened in Irredeemable. Anyway I’m pretty much done with Capcom(publisher) games now. Last gen Capcom games are awesome though. Gonna do another playthrough of Onimusha 2 and 3, DMC1, Inverse Dante/Chaos Legion, and God Hand.
