Grant Morrison makes an interesting point about Liefeld and his contemporaries in the Supergods book. After the boom in prestigious name-driven projects in the 1980s, the Image guys were essentially the pushback, trying to keep comics safe for guys who didn’t give a crap about literary storytelling and loved tits and guns for their own sake.
Morrison likened it to the emergence of punk rock in the 1970s, which was a similarly unschooled and crude backlash to what they perceived to be a stifling trend of lifeless, corporate artsy-fartsiness.

Today I’ve dealt with “ACN” reps today while I was stepping in the barbershop. As I was opening the door I didn’t even have a chance blink and this tall slim hottie was selling ACN. I sat there waiting for my turn while she was talking gibberish. (i didnt pay attention she had some bad ass legs). So they were talking about this “revolutionary video phone” which is their flagship product. I’m like wait since when people use home phones anymore? So I went to the website and I was :wtf: that’s it? really? Seriously? Nevermind with “video chat” i can use Skype for free.

When Morrison starts getting on about his magic and how people took acid to write this and that, I start to fall asleep. It is very annoying that all the comic quote ARE IN CAPS.

Man, I used to read a lot of New Mutants and then X-Force back in the liefeld era. anyone who read over my shoulder would be like,“man, what’s up with them feet? And what’s with them pockets?
