Batman doesn’t count as a superhero for me. At his best he is a man who is a detective. Not a guy who can bring down the entire justice league with a computer and a month to study. I don’t like when they make him the ultimate man who never has to sleep, eat, and knows everything about anything always.

And you’ve basically nailed the reason why Iron Man was so good. They had so much leeway to just do what they wanted, it was also an entirely new franchise with Downey Jr in a comeback role perfectly suited for him. The director wasn’t too shabby as well. It was lightening in a summer blockbuster bottle.

Well, those would be de facto superpowers.

I look at it this way: if Superman (the sci-fi/fantasy adventurer from another world), Batman (the great detective with a tragic past), and Wonder Woman (the Amazonian princess and fish out of water) are the first three superheroes, then the superhero genre is defined by those parameters.

I’m thinking of once again attempting to repartition a Windows hard drive to put a Linux install onto. Anyone got any tips before I venture this? Last time I got outdated instructions and ended up fucking up an install of ArchLinux, resulting in a bad bootloader and I had to reinstall XP to fix it to Windows again.

I’ve been using the Knoppix live DVD for a while now so just plain Debian is what I’m going with (currently reading their install guide).

I really want to avoid massive FUBAR this time.

Well sure, technically he is a superhero. That is made obvious by like 70 years of superhero stories.

But on my own little scale of superhero’y superheros, Batman is way near the bottom. He is really the only superhero you could actually be if you were insane enough and rich enough.

I wonder how blind people feel about being naked.

Cold.

If Alicia Masters or any other hot blind fictional female is the example you are basing your question upon, I’d say completely fine with it. Probably to a degree where it seemed like they were openly flaunting their perfect blind bodies to shame you and your ugly soft eyesight enabled flesh sack.

FUCK YALL NIGGAS!

Between the collective programming, artistic and writing styles we have right here in GD, we should have made something by now. Here I am trying to figure out Python so I can actually do something with it and you niggas sitting around talking about Tony Stark’s girlfriend’s calves. SMH, Lounge.

In all seriousness I’m learning Python + Pythoncard + Pygame. Just real slowly.

What ever happened to Derricklearnslow? I always wondered where his name came from.

I had no luck getting an ArchLinux install to dual boot. But I was successful getting Slackware to install in a dual boot environment, which is considered one of the harder distros to install. IN fact, I’m about to install current (as of a week ago when I downloaded the .iso) to one of my old systems in a multilib 32/64-bit configuration. If you’re having a lot of problems, you may want to just switch distros if it’s no biggie to ya. To that end, however…

Install Windows first!

That, and use the option for a bootdisk for lilo/grub if you have to. If you have a floppy drive, that is. Otherwise, load windows first so at least you have something. Then you can at least boot to windows and have access to a myriad of lilo/grub.conf files available online that could get your dual-boot up and running.

Hope that helps, but for the record…

… I love lilo.

… I love VI.

G’luck

Also, has anyone else noticed how often Dark Prince wore the same outfit

Windows is already installed, what I’m looking to do is shorten the partition it’s on and have Debian on it’s own partition.

And yet, I typed in “debian” in google and this came up.

http://goodbye-microsoft.com/

I don’t really know what this is, but it sounds like it installs Debian alongside Windows and changes the bootloader to select the OS.

Not sure if that’s what I want, or if I could try it just to see what it does before attempting a partition change.

I would be wary of using any executable from a site that claims “goodbye Windows” and just use official sources.

For problems, I use http://www.linuxquestions.org/. In fact, the last Slackware-related question I had Patrick muthafooking Volkerding answered it for me. I had to check like three times to see if it was really him. It was.

They should be able to get your dualboot going.

I kinda still liked Batman Forever but Batman and Robin was just all out camp. Joel Schumacher can suck a dick…oh wait…

  1. doing research on what you’re trying to do…

That site pretty much provides an executable that does exactly what the Debian installer does. Sure, use it and if it happens to work, great! But in addition to the forum I referred you to above, I discovered a gparted live CD that can alter partitions for you without losing data: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php and a pretty good guide to using that LiveCD to do just that: http://www.howtoforge.com/partitioning_with_gparted.

I’ve been meaning to search for open source alternatives to Partition Magic, but now I don’t need to anymore.

wait…what?

…man, that’s still sticking out in my mind as quite ridiculous that the guy in Florida shot that 17 year old kid apparently without provocation, and against the advice to stay in his car… and somehow he has NOT been arrested. I hate to be one of those that automatically throw out the race card but it truly does sound like something you’d expect to happen back in the 1950s instead of 2012.

What? Back in the 1950s? I fully expect that to happen today and if humanity survives for another thousand years, even then. Some people learn and change and some others never will. Technology is the only thing that advances for the better and that comes with the downside of making people lazy.
