Technically everytime you have sex you are making a decision that you could become a parent.
Of course that is a very low technicality most times.
I’ve always thought it quite crazy that women don’t take the highest precautions to not get pregnant. Of course they could be preg trapping or doing some shady shit, but if I was a woman aside from getting raped or something I’d be all about “Put a condom on your penis, and let me eat my daily no baby pill” Usually all the shit of having an unwanted child falls directly on that mother because the dude just peaces out.
But of course again, I am not a woman and probably have no god damned idea what I am talking about. Time to watch Boardwalk Empire!

Again, why is the mother choosing to have a child with someone who has not professed to also wanting a child and has the absolute consent from? Let me show you how single mothers usually come about.

True but considering that women have the majority of birth control methods and 100% of reproductive rights I think it would be fair to say that most of, if not all, the onus and responsibility lies on them. Unfortunately the default blame is always lain on a man, because social lexicon would have you believe that women have no agency.
Either way, this conversation is all my fault. I should I have never brought up single motherhood. Slipped my mind that this board was majority black. Taking into account that single motherhood is something like 70% in the black community, it should have been obvious people were going to start catching feelings. Coupled with the fact that everybody thinks their mother is perfect and that being further embellished by having a single caretaker, I should have never even brought it up.
I pretty much agree with The Damned but it seemed like he was reaching to disagree with me. I think it’s because he’s confusing my thought that having a child would be personally immoral with it being unethical. It’s not the same. Morally, I don’t smoke/drink but I have zero qualms with people that do. Pretty much likewise with people who choose to have children, as long as they don’t choose to do so in a compromising position for the child anyway.
It feels so good to finish the last final exam I will ever have to take. After 21 years of being in academia, I never have to worry about homework, exams, research papers, critiques, group projects, midterms, final exams, and mounting annual tuition costs ever again.
That still doesn’t make it the mother’s choice that she ends up a single mother. That’s still the father choosing to take off and leave her with the child. That example says she chose to try and trap him, and not get the result she wanted.
And LOL at that example being how single mothers “usually” come about. Not from a non-trap situation where the guy simply doesn’t care to be a father and leaves, or a married man who decides to no longer care and leaves, or parents who decide to divorce and one decides to raise a kid by themselves, or just maybe, a father who dies and leaves the mother and child behind. I’m sure single mothers born from these scenarios appreciate being grouped into that stigma.

Really? I’d figure you would’ve hit up one of the hard sciences considering all the stuff you link up. I can feel ya though, I had 3 different professors try to steal me into the harder science after I was through with the respective math and chemistry classes.
Honestly, how often do you believe men consciously decide they want children and then dip out afterward? Parents who DECIDE to get a divorce? Single mothers who DECIDE to let the courts bully the father so he only gets to see his kids every other week, which is not enough to fill a father role? You fail to consider the situation these men are in, instead assuming that they’re evil. Which one of these scenarios do you think happens more often than my dramatic example and was completely out of the woman’s control?
