Yeah theres almost no Giant Robots in the show I believe there are only five of them in the whole thing. As for not getting around to it, the entire thing is super short for how good it is and you could easily watch the whole thing in a weekend, or a day if you wanted to.
I saw it 15 years ago, I believe, and it still ends up having more substance in the few episodes that it has than a lot of other series with many times more episodes.

Sitting down and watching the series with somebody who can help you keep some stuff straight makes Evangelion insanely enjoyable. Regardless of that requirement, the characters aren’t shallow, motivations appear kinda murky and the only thing that is really weird is that whole “instrumentality project” which is the only part that really veers into some religious nonsense of its own creation. You could’ve renamed all the angels into something else, not used Adam or Lilith and left out some other stuff and the series wouldn’t really have suffered for it.
The show is legit; fanboys ruin it like they ruin everything and all things considered, Shinji manned up pretty damn well. Only niggas hating on 14 years getting all screwy in the head are the ones that forget that they ARE 14 year olds. Even our 14 year olds get screwy in the head when some heavy shit happens.

Bullshit. Eva is not that hard to follow, and no one ruined it. It’s just fucking bad. Plain and simple. Almost everything Gainax has done is better then that stupid show. Anno’s own Gunbuster is a shit load better then Eva. Eva is only good for looking into the mind of a man having an extremely serious mental break down. It’s not about a 14 year old having a world of shit heaped on him. It’s about a full grown adult collapsing under the stress of life, and projecting it through a 14 year old avatar.
Evangelion is one of, if not the most, overhyped pieces of shit I’ve ever had the displeasure of watching.
I just saw what was supposed to be Syfy’s Battlestar Galatica - season one, episode one, but it has previews. Am I missing something or are the previews from the miniseries?

Many moons have passed since the show and movies have last aired, yet their names are still considered evil. I’m one of the lucky ones I guess. I only learned about the series because someone had used the Intro as a soundtrack to their combo vid for SFEX3. I watched, I loved, I went on. I never listened to the hype, so I guess I’m lucky in that regard. I know how bad hype can ruin things which is why I don’t listen to much of it.
