SRK Lounge "Help me you nerds!"

(Hmm…I wonder what I did with that stupid dead storage device…)

Oh, right. That’s what I wanted to say: I find it rather hilarious that the (local) news seemed to equate trouble on Black Friday with some kind of supposedly new desperation solely caused by the recession…as if it hasn’t always been a debased materialistic day that exposes the lack of any “civility” most of humanity actually has.

Har har. Fake news is fake.

RSG3 basically answered the OWS thing already, so I’ll just add this: You think it was turning you into a troll? And your Super Saiyan Nappa one wasn’t because…?

Should have known this would have given you the opportunity to post some shiny white guy or, at least, a needless moving .gif.

Speaking of which, how was Thor? I figure it was something that you probably watched and I’m just randomly curious while on this tangent.

P.S. No one will care because its thurst talking.

Oh, I full-well understand that he’s Her Majesty’s Secret Asshole–there’s sadly probably a porn movie or 12 with that name already–and all, I just would like for everyone else to understand that.

I have little problem with people who think James Bond is cool because of all the shit he blows up & breaks or because of “witty” (read: lame) puns he does while killing people or all the women he bangs (who invariably die from all the diseases they contract if not through something else) or all of the above. I can “get” that even if I don’t get it.

I just get rather annoyed with people who think he’s actually a (good) spy considering how utterly conspicuous and well-known he is.

Sure, he gets shit done. That doesn’t mean he’s good with finesse. At all.

It’s the same annoyance I have with the (Western) perception of ninja, even before the stupid people that allowed themselves to be utterly misinformed by Naruto and think Japanese mythology is stealing from that. But, hell, at least a lot of the ninja stuff is increasingly done with irony or for comedy or coolly and can be shown actually doing their damn job at remaining unseen/unknown. James Bond is taken completely seriously as a “good” spy (by audience viewers) for like the complete opposite of that. It’s just…kinda mind-boggling, even knowing how stupid people can be/are.

And before (and after) anyone says I’m just overthinking this, considering how much I intend to have deal with fiction accounts of something later on in life as well as general patterns, this is more just me ranting and being annoyed about observational “research” than me (solely) going out of my way to be mad about this. Not that I’m mad, just annoyed.

Yeah. Remember when he chased the bad guys with a tank in Goldeneye? Not subtle. It’s like that scene early on in Superman: The Animated Series when Clark wants to keep his super-activities on the DL, but then he lands a plane in the middle of a public park and he flies away in full view of the news cameras.

I don’t know why I brought it up. It was an impulse.

Man I don’t even know. I made three hating posts in a row and I was like “No, this is too much.” I don’t know what I think of myself as, or at least what I’m percieved as, but I don’t think I’m a hater and I think part of it was that avatar.

I don’t know what nappa made me. More chill?

I’ve been working at making a game, and I’m still in the brainstorming stage. Board game design is fucking hard. Like fighting games the win condition is getting them out of life, and other games the goal is to reach the end of the stage. But board games you have to create the win condition from nothing, and this shit is driving me bonkers.

We have real spies running around us everyday and most people don’t even know it. THAT’S THE POINT!

I have a secret pastime of trying to locate dead drop locations. No luck yet, but I’m still looking.

Finally watched Death Wish…Dude’s son in law is such a bitch.

I watched all of the Death Wish, for the first time, a couple months ago with a friend before he was sent off to Afghanistan.

He daughter was hot. Too bad she went retarded after having he ass spray painted. I don’t know what chemicals were in there but it completely fucked her up. Also, it was Jeff Goldblum’s first movie.

Keep watching them. They get funnier.

Yeah…that whole scene with Jeff Goldblum was funny to me.
I wish I didn’t laugh throughout the whole scene.

The cops and mayors were also bitchmade…

Edit: So Denzel Washington had a bit part in this movie also…as an alley mugger.

Jeff Goldblum is awesome. He is never not awesome. One of the most underrated actors in terms of both comedic and serious performances.

EDIT:

Man, the shit you find out when you’re doing research for a crime novel…

In No Country For Old Men, Sheriff Bell references the recent murder of a judge. Said murder occurred in real life, committed by a hitman named Charles Harrelson. Father of Woody Harrelson.

Jeff Goldblum defeated dinosaurs while putting up with Sam Neill’s attempt at acting and defeated aliens while putting up with Will Smith’s attempt at acting. How can any of us mortals compete with that?

yeah Gennedy Tartoskovy’s Clone Wars shines for lack of stupid dialogue and focus on well, the actual war. while it’s still helping bridge things for the main story, it fleshes out other things and like say Inception, no one person stands out but rather it’s amazing as a whole.

now i miss MEGAS XLR as well…ahh that was a quality show. A realistic protaganist, Steven Blum voicing…references to both Anime and games and other cartoons. as much as I loved it, I’m glad it wasn’t ever dragged out. only new animated series I’m looking forward to is the new Avatar series…Legend of Korra! get hype!

Megas XLR was so godlike one of those diamonds hidden in the rough or however the fuck that saying goes.

Are you really hating on Will Smith right now? WELCOME TO EARF

Another nice thing about Death Wish is the window to the past it provided. There was a time that New York was an absolutely horrible place and the film was shot during that time. They actually filmed a lot of it in New York if you didn’t know. Did you see the grocery store and how they used to run things? What a shit hole. I can’t even imagine growing up like my parents did at those times. They have stories boy, let me tell you. I mean even the tame ones are sad. For example my dad not having toys so he’d play with hangers and pretend they were airplanes. Fuck, that’s depressing. I’m going to bed.

I used to play with hangers like they were airplanes. And then I went and played with my actual TOYS.

so you wearin a leash now huh

Pennsylvania?
After 9/11 the CIA had the highest recruitment in history. Then, of course, other countries had to step their game up and the end result is that we’re basically in a mini (or perhaps not so mini) cold war right now.

show some respect.

smh @ the damned throwing shots at me in those long ass posts that nobody bothers to read (only reason i saw it is bcuz you quoted rock).

It’s an odd thing… I don’t watch Generator Rex on a regular basis, but it does capture my interest whenever I happen to check out an episode for 1 or 2 minutes… I’m usually hooked for the rest of that particular episode, then I go back to not watching it for a long time… I’ll get caught up on it one day.

Clone Wars is on now. Anakin needs to fuck that cute weird looking girl (I bet she’d give it up if he approached her in that way…she’s around him all the time and apparently looks up to him)…hit it hard and raw for all of us, Anakin. Her DSLs are serious.

What’s this… BEYBLADE still comes on! aaaahahaha, where is GANJ THE FIRE TIGAH right now… I wonder if that dude is watching this…LET IT RIPPPP!

yeah, i did that on SRK several years ago for my buddy. some dude made a logo that was pure hotness. my friend still uses it. he’s even got it printed on the back window of his Denali. even when i made the thread i was thinking that’s a pretty shitty deal for a graphic designer to go through. i was thinking a better way to do it:

crowdsourcing graphic designer talent

Spoiler

say you want a logo. make a thread asking for a logo, but say only 5 graphic designers can compete for it. the 5 that join have to be nominated by OTHER PEOPLE. give the GD’s the criteria for the logo and then pay a small sum (say 10bux) to ALL of them so at least the losers get paid something for their time. set a date for the contest to be over and allow them to draw as much as they want. winner gets to keep the 10bux plus however much the final prize was.

does that seem fair?

also, wanna be taken seriously as a graphic designer? stop fucking putting wings on everything. not you specifically (unless you do it), i’m talking about graphic designers in general. that shit is cancer.

FAIR would involve treating graphic designers like actual professionals, rather than like Hooters girls running game for tips.

fine, then i’ll give the money to an established GD company and freelance GDs get jack shit. <- this side of the argument is shitty imo because of how good unsigned talent can be. can there be a medium between this and that bullshit “GD slavery” contest that maxx posted?
