I always wonder how people ever get hit by a tridash in MvC3. shit is slow as fuck. Then I play the game and I can’t even fucking see where I’m getting hit because of the hit sparks being so obnoxious. High or low? who cares, YELLOW!!!

then the combos just are NOT fun to do. medium…medium…heavy…special…slow as hell flyscreen, which isn’t even flyscreen cause you can’t do cool shit like airdash down and catch them with a punch or unfly and stick your foot out before they hit the ground. Sentinel’s fly activation is like one big “fuck you” to sanford or something. the general pace and animations of a combo happening are so slow and stiff.

I hate that fuckin game

He’s still around. Posts very little though. He posted once in the DmC reboot thread and posted a couple times in the SSFIV tier list discussion thread. Aside from that, haven’t seen him. No idea what’s going on with his blog either.

So after I saw a few more people pick Sunday without really saying why, I just decided to pull rank and said that I’m half tempted to say screw the poll and do it Wednesday anyway, citing the reasons I gave you guys earlier as to why weekends were a terrible idea. I said that I shouldn’t have put Fri-Sun on the poll, as the whole idea of a Fight Night is for mid-week practice to a) help us play each other more regularly, and b) give people going to tournaments a little boost before the tournament weekend.

Several people changed their votes to Wednesday after that.

It’s like they tried to make his air dash more …Iron Man-like, only they ended up making it super slow with a ridiculously long startup. So now his air dash is a box jump like Nova’s, except Iron Man can’t do shit off an air errant air hit like Nova.

Now he does. In the first game he was at least mid-tier imo; his beam assist was always good. In vanilla I would play Wesker, Iron Man, Doom. His triangle jump medium was a solid pressure tool. He could /+B /+B /+B /+B pretty fuckin’ fast and low to the ground in vanilla. He could also rush away with that shit <-- /+B. In Ultimate, I don’t know how he can approach the opponent. He sure as hell can’t dash up to them on the ground. He can’t triangle jump anymore. His approach is always telegraphed like a motherfucker like, “Oh look, Iron Man is attacking, better block.” Alright so you box jump at them and wham on jumping S. Jump S is a good move with a lot of priority, beats or trades with a lot of shit, but good luck doing a goddamned thing if you actually manage to land it. Half the time I’ll hit someone with a jump d+H or a jump S and then be completely out of range to follow up.

Compare that with Nova. Nova can press d+B and slide in the opponent’s face with a command normal—and it’s barely punishable. Nova box jumps at them and clips them with a jump C while they’re in the air? Yeah, dead.

Have you tried doing box dash but dash cancelling the air dash after the first few frames and attack with M? You can do this with forward and back dash. It woudl have been a neat if pushblock wasn’t as easy as it was since you could go into M - H xx fly or M xx Fly into interesting pressure
