It’s annoying to have certain things to do over a weekend… I really would rather play Kingdoms of Amalur and Dragon’s Dogma over this entire weekend… sheeeit, just 1 of those games is enough to cover several days of non-stop gaming.
*heh, that reminds me that Metal Gear Solid still holds the top spot for me with the longest duration at 12 straight hours that one glorious time in 1998…actually, I think Amalur was the one game where I finally surpassed that… I recall at least one time playing that game for over 12 hours…yes yes… finally, something stole the championship belt from MGS! I should’ve made note of that day and the time… unfortunately I can’t remember the exact details, but it was definitely a longer period of time. I still have more things to do in that game, and I’ve played at least around 250+ total hours so far…probably well over 300 at this point.
Gears 3 probably got close as well, from back-to-back Horde sessions… heh, aside from porn, video games are the absolute best form of entertainment. Even your favorite movie of all time… it’s always going to be the same thing. I think gaming actually surpasses that since I place a high value on the “replay” factor… a great game will continue to be entertaining well beyond a movie, comic book, or anything else… it’s giving you the visuals, the audio, a factor of immersion…some real involvement in that game’s “world”. Between my favorite video games, or my favorite of any other medium… I’ll take the games every single time. The replay value is only going to get better as time goes on as well, since games can be more complex as the technology advances. Few people would ever say something like that out loud, but I don’t think other mediums can really compete with that… it’s not even fair to compare them, actually.
…which reminds me of another thing… as long as you only go for games with great replay value, games are actually a steal, considering how much entertainment value you’re getting for the money you spend. For a moment, think of all the hours of enjoyment you got out of your favorite games for about 50 or 60 bucks (or less). (Neo Geo games back in the day though… =

Sheeeit, 255 sit-ups was the total yesterday…definitely the most I’ve ever done within any 24-hour period, since that particular exercise was never part of my usual gameplan; I started today with 25 just now.
