Stewart doesn’t “ruin” the movie and she is hardy ugly by any means, but for a plot based on an incredibly beautiful witch who’s power begins to wane when an even more beautiful girl comes of age she was not a good choice.
Why does she spend the whole movie with her mouth agape? Did no one have the wherewithal to tell her to close her mouth? Her large Chiclet esque front teeth give her a rabbit quality that is off putting simply because I am to believe she is more beautiful then Charlize “I am one of those women who is a genetic freak and it’s unfair” Theron.
It just doesn’t work out.
I’m sure they could have found an actress from theater/overseas who is up to the task and quite striking but they simply went with the hot twilight girl. It’s a shame because the movie surrounding her wasn’t bad at all. I realize she is no Meryl Streep but her acting wasn’t the big problem here.
DON’T CAST A WOMEN WHO IS SUPPOSED TO SO BEAUTIFUL THAT IT MAKES CHARLIZE THERON DIE AND NOT HAVE HER BE AT LEAST EQUALLY BEAUTIFUL.

Other then that beauty misstep, the movie is a well done retelling of an ages old story that doesn’t do anything bad but does nothing awe inspiring to give it a higher rating. I’m predicting it will be rerun on FX/TNT in like 3 years.
Yeah, I saw Ebert’s review a few days ago and was shocked that it was so positive. I was really expecting the movie to be crap, but it’s actually pretty good, from what I’ve read.

I was surprised that I actually liked Bella vs. Thor. Kinda watched it with super low expectations so it went from “why did I even agree to watch this” to “eh. that didn’t suck.”

It kinda reminds me in a way of how Idris Elba is in the new Ghost Rider and that movie is still two gallons of baby poop. I am still trying to figure out what they were trying to do with that movie lol. My girl had the nerve to say it wasn’t as good as the first one. And I was like, “The first one was trash too, you comparing on lump of shit to another.”
Then again she watches a bunch of b movies on Hulu.
We usually hang around the 450th position. It would be a lot higher but each year Wiz deletes so much stuff we stay around the same thing with no real “growth”. Basically all the closed threads, bans, and old ass threads get removed. I remember 2 years ago someone had done the math and we would actually be nearer to 200-225 if it wasn’t for the purges.
