But that would prevent them from making money. And, being soulles entertainment conglomerates, that’s the only way of thinking that they’re capable of. Comics, characters, creative teams, fans… all vessels for making money, disposable once they stop functioning properly.

In terms of comics, the only must buys I’ve experienced in the last year were Daredevil and Uncanny X-Force.
Venom is an honorable mention as well as FF. I love that Flash Thompson was struggling to deal with his alcholoic asshole father while struggling not to become an alcholic himself. Pretty mature material for a comic in my opinion. Not saying comics are immature in anyway, it’s just the first time I saw alcholism in a comic per se.

Immature? Comics, no. The superhero genre, yes, for the most part.
That isn’t to say that there haven’t been successful efforts to the contrary, but they are few and far in between, and the companies that distributed them have not delivered on their promise in the time since.
