I can legitimately argue that I don’t like the Star Wars movies.

I think at least. Like character wise they are so amazing, but plot wise they are really flimsy and lame.

Muff, I’m with weeks on this one. Season 2 is better in retrospect, but I didn’t like it at first either. Jump was too big from Avon/streets to that other shit, but I do like how it all tied in nicely.

Just post in the movie thread. We like hearing people’s opinions about movies. That’s why the movie thread exists.

If people do stupid shit like jump in and say that [such and such popular/respected movie] is a piece of shit without giving any explanation for their opinion, then yeah, their asses are going to get torn up. But if they like or dislike something and take the time to explain why, nobody’s going to go HAM on them. The movie people are a gentle folk, who only attack when provoked.

There could be a different movie thread for the express purpose of sheltering fuckheads who want to shit on things people like and not have to explain themselves… but what would that do other than befoul the Internet even worse than it already is?

If we of the Movie Thread accept OZ, in all his opinions, and sophistricated (sic) reasons for them, I am certain that anyone can find a home therein.

I’m at Red Lobster today, working another bullshit ‘Church shift’ (there’s a church across the street so Sundays are especially busy). I come out of the kitchen to grab some water. A little black kid is hauling ass through the restaurant and ‘accidentally’ stomps on my foot. I say ‘Hey little man watch out’. That is what I said. I didn’t tell him to Fuck Off, didn’t jam my fingers in his eye sockets, I told him to watch out. His fucking heifer of a mother has her eyes bugging out of her goddam head and tells me to take my ‘ghetto ass back to Africa’ and that I should be ashamed of myself. I could literally do nothing but laugh in her face. This fat ass Welfare Cow with her weave slightly crooked off her head and fake eyelashes longer than my fingers not only called ME ghetto, but told me to go back to Africa. That was the part that got me. People at first glance usually think I’m Cuban.

that’s fucked up…as store manager of my restaurant, I make sure that I listen to her story…then I ask you your side. If she is belligerent I just give her the owner’s number to contact him, and say that he ca help her more than I can. Either way, a good manager should be able to tell what the truth of the story behind the conflict is by knowing their employees and seeing how the customer talks. It’s such a huge jump that it’s disarming, but once you go back and watch it you realize its goddamned fantastic. At first I had it ranked below 1 and 5 but after you watch it again you get over the whole “What the fuck! This is an entire new cast!” thing and understand how difficult it was to have an entire new cast and still have it be great.

3 and 4 may just be the best seasons of dramatic television ever so there is no shame coming in second to them.

Count me as one of the few that really liked S2 upon first watch. Though as I’m watching S3 on dvd finally, it does kind of pale. I might get season 4 on DVD; I don’t know.
