Well these people are obviously stupid and not worth paying attention to. Now just because some stupid people do it in a stupid way doesn’t invalidate the usefulness of said activity. If that where true we’d all have to stop paying attention to everything because some stupid people decided to partake in the activity, and truthfully, that would be the stupidest thing of all.
True story coming up.
I worked there for like a month, and the most hours they gave me was two 4 or 5 hour shifts in a week, and that happened once. Every other week I got one fucking day. That and my pay was on a ComData card, so there is that horseshit to deal with.
When I tried telling my boss I was quitting she told me she would keep me around on holidays, it took me like 2 weeks to get the balls to flat out tell her I was quitting, because she is one of my best friend’s sisters and she got me the job in the first place, so it wasn’t like she was just a random boss. This happened like last year.
Recently I went to the other one in town and bought Lords of Shadow, she asks me if I have a card, no, “you can get one”, I say I forgot it at home and she continues the same shit.
I buy the game and the only positive in this story is that she referred me to the used copy for like 3 bucks less instead of just assuming I wanted the new one.
She looks at my game purchase history or whatever and suggests I check out a 11 disc Street Fighter soundtrack anniversarry edition with WRY-U’s belt.
I tell her I have the internet and could download those if I wanted, and that nobody needs that belt.
She repeats, “Nobody needs that” meekly as she has just realized how awkward this entire exchange has been.
I’ve known this person for like fucking 6 years and she straight talked to me like a mark-ass motherfucker.
Fuck Gamestop. Unless you are a master salesmen I suggest you stay far the fuck away.

So I preorder, spend my 60 simoleons, and I get a new character class later down the line, a Better-Loot-Drop item, a key to a special part in the game, 3 golden guns, a new area and a Rocket Launcher. If I buy the SPECIAL SUPER AWESOME VAULT HUNTER JIGGA EDITION, I spend $150 and I get all that and a bunch of useless frippery like postcards and maps to real estate in an imaginary place.

Another thing. Gas is fucking expensive and not all of us live in the city. The nearest place to my house that sells phones is 45 minutes away. With gas nearing 4 bucks a gallon I’m not driving to the fucking store to test drive a phone unless I’m already out that way anyway, which isn’t very often. Certainly not when someone is nice enough to spend their time showing off the product and upload it so i can view it in the comfort of my own home.

Ben, why couldn’t you buy them? Watching someone else play them would take away from the experience you get from actually playing them and immersing yourself in that world for a short amount of time. Some of the best games I’ve played in a while for sure.
@angelpalm, they may be short but the quality of those games (at least to me) is higher than a games I’ve played that are full priced 60 dollar games. And fuck man, I got shit to do, I love that they are shorter, I don’t got time now a days for some 80 hour epic.
Albeit I did get the season pass during the steam summer sale. Probably the best purchase I made during that sale. Those walking dead games are way too good.
