Because skinny is the “standard of beauty.” It’s what’s drilled into us, that which is sexy and desirable. So if people buy into that, or just legitimately feel that way in the first place, that makes sense. Generally, the girl that is too thin puts in more work than the girl that is too big, IMO.

The whole “thin” thing being the standard of beauty actually is something that’s still relatively new. It was for fashion originally…being thin was mainly a tool to be a fashion model. It was never really about the models physical beauty but the size for them to show off new looks etc.

This basically evolved into the high class deciding to lose weight to wear said fashions. Eventually it spread to Hollywood and the rest is history.

I did for a whole 5 months just to ace a class. Prof was salty as fuck half the people in the room were business majors, nigga said we’re all destroying the world. And first day of class I said Jackson Pollock isn’t an artist, so first few classes dude was grilling me non stop
