ip banning is really only good when (as twelve mentioned) you’re on a static address. to add to that, you also need to not know how to computer because getting around an ip block/ban is not difficult.

Son… I’m in the “Videos of Fighting Games” group and he’s in a PA fighting game scene group… He posts to all the rooms, his own feed, and a ton of people’s personal walls… Some of which, I’m friends with, so I see the video pop up like 4 times in my news feed, and I get a private message about it, AND I see the shit come up on my Youtube…
I mean, he’s my dude and all… He’s my first FGC friend, I’ve chilled with him numerous times outside of Marvel, he got me into Marvel, we’ve had cool conversations…
But this shit is annoying.
Makes me think of a game I had on the Atari 2600 called 3-D Tic Tac Toe. Instead of a 3x3 grid, it was a 4-layered 4x4 grid, where going diagonal through each layer was possible as well. Game was great.

Add that no matter of your ISP there are good chances that more than one person is behind an IP, unless you have paid explicitly to be the only person using the IP, you share your public IP with a lot of people.
Remember temp IP bans/realm downs in Diablo 2? I’d self-xfer and sometimes realm down, then to get around it, I’d change my IP. If you stay in the same server for 5 minutes, the server will stay up for a few minutes allowing you to self-xfer. Pretty awesome when you didn’t have anyone around that you trusted enough with your gear.
GG. Never lost an item while xfering again outside of the server dropping(lost a beast almost perfect Nightwings Veil and a chance to fight Uber Diablo because of crashed servers. Which sucks, because fighting Uber Diablo is fun as shit. All my chars rape that guy.)
haven’t had any need to get around static addresses in a while, but the last time i set a proxy up on a friends box took all of 5 minutes.
I usually find games where people are doing quests and drop items in random corners of towns, a bit risky but I get a kick out of it anyway lol
I used to do that sometimes, until you get hit by the bug that the “server is full” when there’s only like 3 out of 8 people in there.
