Personally, I still think the words made the movie for me. I probably wouldn’t have been pulled in as much as I was. Had I seen the DVD version first, I don’t think it would’ve made as big an impact on me. I REFUSE TO LOOK FOR A SUB VERSION!!! I WILL NOT!!!

This is almost completely wrong. You may be confusing the US market for anime with the Japanese production market, because there definitely aren’t fewer shows. There are around 30 or more new TV shows released every season, which is way more than there used to be. There is less anime being licensed for release in the States, though, and several of the most prominent localization companies have either reduced operations or shut down completely.

With regards to DBZ and Akira, as I said, I will always respect them for what they did for animation and manga both in “the West” and in “the East”, but as far as being ultimately good, especially when you take their source material into account…they aren’t good really. To me, Akira is far less the offender here even with its DBZ’s better dubs due to the time constraints, busting up animation constraints at the time with regards to film and the fact that the person who made Akira didn’t just give up at one point like Toriyama did.
We all know that pretty much everything after Freeza was never supposed to happen. At all. The fact that just getting to Freeza in the anime bored the shit of me as a child is more what I was getting at. The original DBZ anime is garbage in most instances unless you want to fast-forward a lot–not that all filler in DBZ is necessarily bad since the driving episode is still hilarious as well as smaller things and Snake Way stuff was kinda fun. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have made Kai; I haven’t watched Kai just because I no longer really care for DBZ at all outside of Abridged.
I can’t hate on DBZ completely because it helped inspire One Piece and a lot of other shonen manga as well as serving as cautionary tale to never have “power levels” get that high (unintentionally), but it’s honestly pretty shit to me. Then again, it was pretty much doomed from the start given how Roshi semi-casually blew up the moon all the way back in Dragonball.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s an inside joke (considering all the attention her old-ass sprite got), but I’d bet it’s more that we don’t see Demitri all that often because a) he doesn’t have huge-tits and b) they don’t be bothered to have to animate Midnight Bliss for every character, especially in (big) cross-overs.
Maybe they’ll vary it up next time by giving us Lilith (who is technically still Morrigan, but intentionally flat as fuck chest-wise), Anakaris (back from MvC2) or finally using fucking Gallon/Talbain in something, especially with Valkenhayn proving that fighting werewolves are still well-liked.

What I meant, since I thought it was obvious, was that it would be amusing to see one done for males just to see what women supposedly look at on a (clothed) guy. I’d imagine clothing would still be a factor, but others like factors are mystery to me like whether women stare at guy’s asses and stuff like that–then again, I don’t understand why anyone looks at anyone’s ass as an attractive part. That and it would be amusing to see there either be a complete lack of male arrows because guys aren’t “supposed” to be looking at guys (even in a non-sexual manner) or it have point to aspects of other guys we all know that we compare with ourselves; that would also make it somewhat easier to determine the sex of whomever drew the initial diagram in the first place.

Actually Dragon Ball was supposed to end after the Piccolo fight that ended Dragon Ball, where Goku meets back up with Chichi. Manga was supposed be done at that point but he got pushed to continue.

I (think I) was aware of this already. I meant more than with DBZ itself, Freeza was supposed to be the initial ending point and then he got pushed (again) after to continue with the whole Cell bullshit and then again with the whole Gum…er Boo saga.
Then we all got DBGT even after he left because people still couldn’t let it go and end gracefully. Ugh.
Like I said, DBZ, as inspirational as it’s been to some people, is basically a prime example of what not to do while being competent enough to not be the utter nadir of that pile examples like half of fan-fiction or 99.9% of bodice-ripping “romance” or pretty much anything with a Mary Sue in it that isn’t a Parody Sue.
He probably misunderstood, Sakurai just stated that he won’t be involved in balancing the characters, which means nothing if the game engine is still shit and his insane will to make the game as devoid of competition as possible.
Simply put: The Damned is more likely to marry Paris Hilton and have raucous, unprotected sex with her in a bed made of leeches, while watching a DBZ marathon, than the new Smash being genuinely good and not an accident from a competition hatemonger.
