Not sure how you guys are with settling with just best in US. I’ll be going for best in the world. And last I checked, and correct me if I’m wrong, World champ > US champ.

I was actually talkin about international tourneys like SBO and the like. But if top players like Pungko and Mago do end up showin for Evo, and Jon of course, that wouldn’t be too bad either.
Well the truth is, we did not anticipate how much we would LOVE XII. We all thought we’d play it for 2 weeks, and then get over it and play’02UM at home (at the time '02UM wasn’t announced for the arcade).
This has nothing to do with with our previous disagreement with Geese 2k2UM tourney rule, although I’ll admit I considered not going on principle alone (call me stubborn). By the time '02UM came out in the arcades, we tried it once and almost immediately lost interest. Strangely, '98UM isn’t too bad to adapt to coming for XII.
Between spending way too much time prepping for the LA tournament (my girl was getting neglected hehe), mainly losing interest in '02UM, and not knowing if XII was going to be in Raging Storm for sure–we opted not to go. Sorry, I thought it was pretty clear when we stopped posting in the '02UM threads and any Raging Storm tourney posts that we were not going to attend.
Unless Jon changed his mind from 2 days ago, he said he’ll goto EVO for sure.
As for the money, I’ve never gone to a tourney for the money. I go there to watch great competition, chat with fellow enthusiast, and learn to improve my game so don’t take it personal.

Just to clarify for people here: You plan to be the BEST KOF XII Player in the US in a near future after the console release, not at EVO this year.

Currently we have plans to go there, leaving Friday early in the morning. It takes more or less 3-4 hours to get there from SoCal. This means that we may miss the tournaments for KOF that are being hosted that morning.
As for how many of us will attend, that is yet to be determined, but I do know there are at least 6 of us.
Okay…so you all plan to leave Friday morning…well yeah some of the tournaments are gonna have to run because I have a lot planned that I wanna take advantage of…but whatever you miss you will be able to make up for the most part with the 2v2s because KOFXI, Garou MOTW, and 98UM are having 2v2 tournaments that makes it highly likely you all will be able to attend.
See what sucks is I only have like 2 days to run all my tournaments…Sunday no one runs tournaments except EVO staff as I am sure you all know…so I gotta stick to my schedule…I am sure you guys all understand that…
