SRK Inaugural Arena: Hunger Games sign-ups thread (rules for new game inside)

Okay THIS I will play.

You should sponsor me. Everyone should. Imagine how great it would feel to back the winner (with your points).

:coffee:

Nah.

A sponsor for Vynce is a fool. I am making sure he dies, and then I am killing everything else. I actually have a list pinned to my wall, and I wrote Vynce’s (and two others) names in blood. I look at that list when I need something to hate.

My 1st action would cut your throat :coffee:

ok, read through this, and willing to sign up for it. However, I must have missed what starting stats are (health, defense, attack), or if they are simply 1/0/0 with nothing.

This game requires less of a time commitment. I don’t even know how the game thread will go besides “you’re dead, bub, meat, Magneto, Croc Dundee, Greg Oden.”

So with just the one check in a day, lets get a bunch more signups.

I would also tag Perkins but he can’t be. Maybe Shaft Agent is a better choice, because he almost understood “FGC Mafia XII”

Plz answer all the questions. Or I’ll “double” my defense first phase from 0 to 1 with magick. Or decide to attack for 1 damage. Fist to face. Battle Royale slavery revolt. Looks like you did.

So are there enough items, Weapon/armor = to players after that 1st day so nobody is left ass up dead 24 hours in unless they screwed up trying to get the same thing as someone else? There’s mindgames in thinking someone is going for the same item as you?

A buncha wallflowers not saying anything might bid snipe you and win their RNG to get that good weapon?

Scavenge isn’t a player choice for an armor or weapon? Random everytime? They just send in “Scavenge”?

or do they send in “Scavenge + Item”

Man I gotta say, naming this after Hunger Games and not Battle Royale kinda made me angry. That being said Pimp Willy needs to incorporate some non-combat orientated equipment like in the movie like **Binoculars **and a **compass **and all that shit that can be thrown in. Like make it so you don’t just end up with nothing if you don’t get a weapon or fail to get an item other players or going for. Make them non offensive and maybe slightly defensive, like a **flashbang **that makes all attacks that round miss or some crazy shit like that lol. Even add in a **backpack **to allow you to carry more shit and also add a limit to how many miscellaneous items you can carry, make it so you have to drop something in favor of something else.

That’s basically what being a sponsor is. You get money to spend to influence the game (weapons, items, etc) and you can watch from the spectators lounge. But you don’t have to, you can save your money up for future games.

To clear up what “Sponsoring” somebody is, you basically spend your money to help somebody. Send them a sword for 1 coin. Remove all environment hazards for 3 coins. Give somebdoy protection that protects from their next death. (These are just examples of potential things you could do).Bigger effects cost more coins. You’ll have to team up with others to pool your money, or save your coins across multiple games. Who you decide to help is completely up to you for whatever reason you choose.

0 attack, 0 defense. Your “health” is nonexistent, really. You are alive or you are dead.

You choose which item you scavenge for. There might be a better word than Scavenge for the action. But yes, there are mindgames. If 4 people go for the axe on turn 1, only 1 person ends up with it ,and the other 3 end up with nothing and are in trouble turn 2.

Originally it was just going to be generic “Arena” and “Hunger Games” would just be 1 theme that could be done. That still may be how it goes. Considering I wanted a smaller game to start, 12 made sense with the 12 districts, and also with the arena able to change to keep the game from getting into a stalemate.

As for the items you suggest, that’s what the Misc category is for. Could totally work these sort of ideas in. I don’t show everything. You won’t know what is available until the game starts. Stuff like the “Whip” listed could make for some interesting strategy.

Also, don’t forget the unique abilities each character has that are secret until they die/the ability comes into play. You have no idea what the other people are capable of.

Yeah I really think you are shooting us in the foot with this zero health. Atleast like 10 points so that it takes two really good simultaneous attacks to kill off someone outright. Also give us the ability to scavenge for food to gain health back at the rate of one point per round or some ish lol. Of course to really be dick make it so you can also fuck THAT up and end up loosing a point and dying from like food poisoning. That’s would make some of the other miscellaneous items come in handy, like a net, and the infamous pot lid(or rather an actual cooking pot).

So turn 1 is basically “grab shit, hope you picked something no one else did or get friendly dice”? Would default 1 attack (aka strangle the bitch) be better so that you don’t have just one option that means anything for turn 1?

It would be cool if we have 1 attack 1 deffense at the beginning so we can choke a bitch on the 1st round if we decide so

I was thinking that there should be a Hide action (though consecutive uses would have to be barred in case someone decides to just hide the whole game) where you can’t Attack, Defend or Scavenge, but it can keep you safe for the turn if you feel you’re going to be targeted. But then that makes me wonder what the point of defending a turn would be. Maybe create consequences for the attacker if they fail in killing? I dunno. Just throwing ideas out there.

That will take too long. The idea is to be a fast paced game. There are definitely merits to having more health, but I can see that being almost a different game entirely.

That’s the yomi in it, going for a strong weapon that is contested, or a weaker weapon nobody is gonna go for? Turn 1 is gonna set the pace for the rest of the game. Having everyone able to kill on turn 1 would be a fucking blood bath lol

The game could reach epic dnd levels of complicatedness, yes, but I’m not sure that enhances the fun of it.

And if the game plays out and is too simple, then there is totally room for some of these ideas. It’s not like I haven’t considered them, but it’s more like I wanted a simple, streamlined game with potential for backstabbing, and levels of yomi in it. I am open to revisiting some of these ideas after seeing how the game actually plays out.

Knew I Should’ve called angelpalm an elf nerd. Or at least stat nerd.

Looks like Forge has got themselves a Sponsor. Use my shekel wisely, homestar.

I’m scavenging the sunglasses, back up:

In a few hours you’ll have more time, so just provide us the 2 extreme examples of this latent ability stuff when you can.

Better starting health/defense? Better ability to multiply against weapon power? Is what I’m only thinking would be what that means.
