I want to see this. The Clancy Net Force books that I read in High School had an Italian woman who did Silat and when they discribed the fights; it sounded badass. It will be cool to see some moves in action.
…I mean like seriously? Duh my dude. Merantau has a better plot for sure but dudes weren’t meeting death via door frame were they?
And I do kind of agree about the monotony toward the end. But to me it was like getting used to sprinkles on top of a world’s greatest cake. If I eat enough of it I’ll get tired of it but motherfuck it is still the world’s greatest cake.

Saw it Saturday omg wow…just insane easily the best pure action movie of the 2000’s at least although i know that might not be saying much. I loved the score, each scene had it’s own track that went perfectly together. Also I was surprised by the acting and writing the 2 things I expected to be weak while nothing special were okay.
The hugeass theater was completely packed except for a few seats in the very front, crowd got hella hype all laughing and gasping at the same time. Although it was annoying the 2 guys sitting on my right next to me were talking the whole time saying shit like “oh snap he gon get shot in the next scene” or “don’t go through that door son!”. Also some guy in the front was making comments to the whole damn theater during the quiet scenes until some old lady said quiet to him so when he didn’t stop another guy yelled shut up and the whole theater laughed and applauded him.

Necroing an old thread simply because this movie is out on Blu-Ray now if you haven’t yet seen it. It’s very much one of the best action movies in the last decade hands down. Maybe even since the first Matrix.
I bought a copy for me and my bro. His ass had the nerve to say that it was simply “good”. What a queer.
Copped the Blu-ray this weekend. Just kept playing the fight scenes over and over. Gonna check out the specials tomorrow.

Edit: Which btw is starring the Hemsworth brothers? That could be interesting. If it plays out like Heat in an apartment building and generally plays to the strengths of American action movies it could be tight. Shakey cam will not be accepted though.
