So many memories… I made a lot of friends and enemies via regional matchmaking. This place was a beacon of light in the early 2000s when arcades were closing and console ports meant more local gatherings into eventual regional small tournaments. This forum has been a backbone to the FGC for so long. But I understand in letting it go… I just hate seeing all that data being deleted. I hope all the tech shared here can be archived in some way.

Man. This is a huge blow. I used SRK to buy and sell arcade sticks. Art. General Discussion. ETC This is where I get my news and whatnot from.

Yeah. Since SF4 this has been a shitty place to get my fighting game info. But prior to that. I learned how to mod arcade sticks. I still check this for CVS2 help. It’s how I even managed to get into the FGC long before there were places for us to gather weekly. And I still find it waaaaay better than discord or reddit. Where you have to look through for days to get any character info.

The Weekly Fighting game club. All the different game threads. The smash threads where I met @LordWilliam1234 and @“po pimpus” . @“Kid D. Zaster” with his lame ass trying to get me to come to tournies. @Sabin and that fuckin Sim whooppin my ass in SFIV all those times. @HAV , @Neesa , @Kail , @Nemesys_Syndrome , @Vegaman , @DaFeetLee @Qrazy

Man! Fuck this bullshit. Nothing is adding up to me, like this is some plot of some sort. Maybe I’m in denial or something, but I got a few questions to ask.

1. In the discussion you guys decide to have about shutting down the forums, did doing a fundraiser or have a open donation ever came across you guys minds? Because of how this was announced it seems like you guys was just looking for an excuse close this part of SRK.

2. In your decision to close the forums down BUT to keep the front news part of SRK open is highly FUCKING suspect. You’re
   telling me that you truly believe that people are still going to be coming to SRK to read some FGC news? Like i’ll give you that SRK front page is a little above a place like EventHubs (but then again it doesn’t take that much to be better than them), but come on. . .

3. SRK (regardless how people might feel) is STILL the epicenter of the FGC. when you talk about EVO, SRK comes to mind and vice versa.

All in all if this decision stays and you guys close the forums down by the end of this month SRK will be truly dead, ain’t no muthafucker come here to read some damn news. . .
