SRK D&D Game start! The town of Marast: At The Quill & Dagger Inn

Just joined Roll20 for the days I won’t be working. I have an account set up and watched the tutorial, but otherwise no nothing of using the site.

Man would this be too different to use for a Aberrant sheet?

This was the closest thing I could find to it on Myth-Weavers

I forgot about your token until this morning. LOL This is what I came up with in a rush:

Sorry the quality is bad, but it will be shrunk much smaller on the map, so it won’t even show up.

@ayo

is this sheet good to use for M&M or is it outdated?

That lore shit that I promised coming up. Just finishing it. Not 100% necessary, but it gives you an idea for what sort of game you’re going into tomorrow.

Lore. Or the beginnings of it, anyway. Sorry to cut it short. I got way to carried away with the creation mythos and I just didn’t want to keep you guys waiting too long. I realize some of you guys actually sleep. Soon, I’ll post up the gods themselves. You’ll get the more game-relevant parts of the story tomorrow night.

**- In the Beginning… - **

Long ago, Xa’vahgahn the Creator created Aa’Mra and all within it. He created the land masses and the mountains, the great waters, the lesser waters, the skies and the mountains. Then, from his creations, he produced the overseers, lesser gods, protectors of his creation that were endowed with their power, and sworn to defend the existence of all creation.

These were the beginnings of the gods.

The lesser gods too began to manipulate the world that they were given mastery over, using their powers to influence the nature and shape of the world and of the universe. Mountains grew, eventually piercing through the heavens; rivers stretched out long and far; winds swept across plans, beating them into flatness; and fires raged beneath the ground, only surfacing as violent eruptions.

The elements substantiated themselves through the materials of the world, experimenting, eventually creating the necessary environments for life.

Life came unto Aa’Mra in a flash, faster than even the gods could notice it. Soon, however, they found that their world had begun to change. Vegetation sprang out of the soil, covering the plains, even mountains, even the deep ocean floors. The beasts showed up afterwards, eating both the vegetation and each other, in order of size and fierceness, from smallest to largest, and from docile to ferocious.

There was one sort of beast, however, that came forth soon afterward that the gods determined devastating enough to devour them all, plant and beast, with very little regard to either size or fierceness. These were Men.

  • A Brief History of Men - **

It is unknown whether Humans came before the other great races, or if their influence over the world is so solidly fixed within history as a result of their stubborn resiliency, great numbers and unwavering determination. Written history places them many thousands of years after The Elves, Dwarves, Gnomes and Halflings, but theirs is the only culture to have spread across all of Aa’Mra, leaving behind the indelible marks of their presence wherever they go.

All other races have origins and histories far too voluminous and ancient to be considered within this brief synopsis of history. Suffice it to say that their stories are best told by the peoples of those races, both at their word and woven into the artifacts left over from their day to day lives. An explorer’s resolve to discover those relics, however, would do much towards learning their history, should one be so inclined.

The gods, however, were primarily concerned with The Humans, for it was they who seemed to have an insatiable appetite for all of the god’s givings, and who seemed therefore to pose them the greatest threat. Yes, the gods, great and mighty beings that they were, became fearful of the least long-lived and perhaps least spectacular of all the flourishing races. Man seemed both bent on and perfectly capable of overtaking all of Aa’Mra.

** - The Love of the Creator -**

Xa’Vahgahn The Creator also took note of the events transpiring within his creation, and was pleased to see that the lesser gods had been given at last a challenge to their great and nearly unchecked power. Since creating the universe all things in it, he had become weakened, lazy, and fearful himself of an uprising by the lesser gods. So he took delight in the conflict that the Human presence brought bore to them.

However, while overseeing all these things, The Creator himself became influenced by his own admiration of Men. Particularly, a woman.

He happened upon her while he observed without interfering in the matters of Men, and she somehow impressed him. She, with a lifespan of what to The Creator was mere seconds, eventually came to captivate him so thoroughly that he spent small portions of his will just so that she would be reborn, over and over again, and he could observe her life in perpetuity.

But that was not enough.

As with all admirations, his began to grow immensely. The Creator’s very nature as an omnipresent being capable of infinite acts, forced him to form a desire to know her, this simple, yet captivating creature. And so he began to take form as a human and inject himself into the lives that he willed her to live for his amusement. Over eons he lived, forming relationships with her that crossed the span between intense love and vengeful hatred. He became to her, across an infinite number of lifetimes, both friend and acquaintance, lover and stranger.

But still it was not enough.

Those were but separate lives for The Creator, and though he was fully capable of living all of them simultaneously and within an instant, remember every detail of them; he found that this did not quell his desire to know this woman, as he knew himself.

So he decided to make her into a being like himself. There was, however, a limit to the near-limitless power of a being even as powerful as The Creator himself. He could not willingly create such a massive life-force without dividing his own power. Also, it was impossible to impart so much power to a mortal without having their consent. In order for her to become as him, she would have to willingly give up life as she knew it, all matter of mortality, and become aware of all her many lives that she’d lived at his behest, his influence over her existence and the extremes to which his odd interest in her had taken him to.

To say that such things would be unsettling to a mortal would be a perverse understatement, one that Xa’vahgahn was not certain that she would understand or accept.

Meanwhile, as the love-stricken god plied his romantic trickery upon an unsuspecting human, the lesser gods continued growing in power, which they leveraged largely against men and the other great races that often came to their aid.
