SRK Competitive Pokemon Battling Thread: Logoghoul and White Shadow Win! Bye Gen 6!

i’ve had more problems with mega kanga than malamar, usually ended up 2hkoing it. it’s not fast enough to beat some dragons and aegislash can deal with it if it hasn’t boosted. still it seems that boosters are the strongest pokes atm.

Also I feel like klefki is the least skillfull pokemon ever. Braindead easy to use and really hard to play around.

klefki doesn’t take hits all that well, just keep hitting it with SE damage

klefki is annoying just drop your excadrill/garchomp/natural cure/electric pokemon on it to take the twave though and it usually can’t do much but set up spikes. foul play is annoying if you boost atk though lol. the hardest time i had vs a klefki was a dual screens one and i only had physical boosters left ;[

people who want to use sticky web against a player who bring in Malamar best beware…sucks it’s typing though sets it up for certain pkmn to beat it.

you can’t really hit klefki with priority subs, and ground types only work if they don’t switch into swagger . The klefki I’m running into aren’t setting up spikes, it’s swagger/twave/play rough/substitute. I’ts essentially a roll of the dice, I’ve literally lost entire teams to that because of BS confusion/full paralyzes.Getting rocks and stuff up and roaring it’s subs away with zapdos is the only thing I’ve found that does reasonably against that so far and it still comes down to swagger procs.

It’s why it helps to pack something with Taunt. Taunt SD Gliscor was one of my fav sets for it last gen, and I ran Taunt on my Gengar sometimes as filler.

Malamar’s speed is a letdown, so any faster special attacker should be able to handle it. Togekiss in particular walls it. Landorus T can hurt it badly with a U-Turn as well.

I had a few more matches with the same team. I haven’t switched anything up yet save for the eviolite

I probably should have just attacked azumarill for the 80% + instead of switching out on turn 22.

Talonflame is too fun lol. I’m definitely going to have to build a team around supporting this guy.

Yeah my first team always had sticky web up which made malamar much more of a problem, my second team doesn’t have much of a problem. Taunt doesn’t really help against klefki because because everything that taunts HATES paralyze, gengar, aerodactyl, crobat, Noivern etc… All those things rely on their speed.

What is the new Scizor set?

I’m assumimg the same old Choice Band/ Sword Dance sets are popular except Defog is an option for it now. Now that Scizor can’t switch into Dark and Ghost moves safely anymore special defense bulkier sets may become popular (it’s pretty bulky to begin with though.) I think Assult Vest Scizor will become a force to be reckoned with.

@Bious

Mind if I drop out of this first tournament? Making a team is taking a lot longer than I thought.

i don’t think you guys are ready for the new awesome scizor set

Watch it be Baton Pass Scizor making a comeback, lol

Baton Pass Scizor is dat dude… My Scizor and Medicham ran train on Smogon’s Netbattle server in days long past

You sure I can’t help you?

i can tell you that currently it’s not BP scizor, it’s a different set that still needs EVs to be tinkered with

although megascizor is definitely capable of running a bulky SD set

been running into curse / harvest / sitrus trevenant. yes a ghost using curse. it’s pretty funny. in general using trevenant is hard because of all the talonflame running around but it’s an interesting set.

No, I can make a sup-par team by myself. It’s just the grinding that’s bugging me. I’ll have a team ready by the next tournament though.

You know it’s auto-50, right? Or are you just having trouble EVing?

pretty much every pokemon I’ve made has needed at least level 48, and some were higher, the grind does suck a little bit.
