All that I am trying to say is that the most MLG players can beat those who do not play MLG.
And for the ones who’ve said MLG is gay, why did you come to the conclusion? I thought it was gay at first, then I realized that the BR was my favorite weapon. I also realized how much teamwork and skill was needed to actually do well.

I can beat them in MLG, and I can beat them in real Halo 2. Its NO problem for me.

Anyway, that argument aside, I’m down for having some fun games with anyone on SRK; I tend to try and have fun more than talk shit and I don’t take this game as seriously as come people (cough rush cough) but I do pretty well for myself I think. Also I don’t know what happened to the clan but me and Rush left because no one was EVER on, and we wanted to play some clan matches. So right now the clan is sorta blah blah, maybe we should start a new one with active SRKers only.
And as for people saying they can take Rush or they’re better than Rush, well shit Rush is constantly laying down the guantlet but I’ve never seen anyone take him up on it. Wtf?

Why is it fucking impossible to get ppls to play? The only persons that I’ve received an invite from is ArcadeFire, Stiggz, and Dano. I’ve also played against a select few, but not with everybody I’d like to play with from this thread.

I play MLG because I am trying to prepare myself for future tournaments. The prize money is huge, wish me luck folks. If I win, I’ll give everybody a Halo 2 figurine.

This is my last thing I’m gonna say about MLG in Halo 2. Most tournaments you go to = MLG. Find me a tournament that is normal rules that is actually worth going to and hit me up. The list below are major mlg tournaments…and why would someone throw in so much money for a tourney with MLG rules? They all must be newbies.
Kick Off Tournament (Worth 2x as much $ as a normal Major)
Halo 2 4v4: $10,000
Conference Championships (Worth 4x as much $ as a normal Major)
Halo 2 4v4: $17,800
Halo 2 FFA: $2200
National Championships
Halo 2 4v4 : $50,000
Halo 2 FFA: $10,000
There isn’t one legit reason for saying that regular h2 > mlg, because it isn’t. MLG is skill based while starting with an smg with the reticule the size of king kongs asshole isn’t. There is no skill spraying at someone with an smg and plasma rifle. With a BR you actually have to, OH EM GEE, aim.
Radar is taked off to make it even more base around team work and to make it harder to camp all day. Halo 2 really is just about teamwork. Individual skill does shine through, but not nearly as much as teamwork does.
You also start with a br so the beginning spawn in the game doesn’t determine the outcome. Heres an example: Say on lockout, 4v4 and playing non MLG, your team spawns at middle and bottom of BR. You have already won since, A: you thow a grenade up to sniper to bring it down, and B: you get sword automatically and C: you get combo almost as fast. Good luck to the other team with basically 3 power weapons and you spawned at teh best place to hold.
Rush you are very good, don’t get me wrong, but you cannot determine skill in halo 2 1v1. Whoever holds power weapons the longest will win.

^ Battle Rifles DO take skill though, and isn’t the game better when it actually takes some skill? I’d much rather spawn in the middle of say ivory tower with a battle rifle vs a sniper at 3rd level then with an smg. You’d better have some gangster ass jumping skills.
Oh and by the way, numbers (ranks) don’t mean shit on halo 2.

Well the main reason why I disliked MLG was that it was n00b combo city, everytime you spawned or turned a corner it was Plasma Pistol Shot hitting you in 3…2…1. The other time I’m looking for somebody to shoot and I’m getting shot outta nowhers and the other team has conviently has hidden the other weapons that are supposted to be on the map so the only weapon around is a Battle Rifle. I only was able to find a Needler and the Plasma Rifle…basicly MLG is Halo without the variety that makes it fun.

They pretty much took it out, the maps that combo was whored out is all rifles now. You must be playing the old settings. Midship still has the one and ivory tower has the 3.

Dude, I killed an entire enemy team with three grenades and an SMG. They had Sword, Shotgun, and BR’s. And every one of them died. And then, I had a sword and BR! And I kept it for the rest of the game.
I dunno, but I’m not gonna sit back and go “Oh shit he has the RL, i r teh fuct!”. I’m gonna take that shit away from him, and I don’t have to force communism into Halo 2 in order to do it.
MLG is about equality right? About teamwork, and everyone on the playing field having a “fair chance”? Well, thats the definition of Communism. Everyone equal.

Rush, you don’t get it. Have you ever played against an acutal “pro” team? They have people that actually specialize in each weapon. You aren’t going to throw 2 grenades into 1 room and get a triple because they aren’t random team training + guest players. I’ll start inviting you to some FFA’s or something of the like with really good players and see how you do.
For instance my friend hamster, if he gets the sword and its not br start, hes not dying the rest of the game, guaranteed.
Also, 1v1 doesn’t count as I’ve said before.
