I am NOT joking you. I was crouched beneath him on the sniper tower, trying to sneak up on him, and I heard him talking to his RL friends, “I can’t beat this guy! He’s too good! Damnit, what am I goin to do!”
Okay just to add drama to this thread(again), am I the only person that finds it gay when people complain to you about sending them invites WHEN THIER ON YOUR FRIENDS list?! It just doesn’t make sense. If you’re my friends I’m gonna send you an invite.
You’re not the only one that Rush challenged MLG players through.
However, I can testify that Rush has attempted to play some of these level 40s and level SUNS that are “MLG” and they won’t play him, for various reasons. Whether it’s just not interested or whatever, but that guy gets major props for being the first to actually accept Rush’s challenge.
You’re not gonna find someone good at MLG who will play friggin’ 1v1, stop wasting your time. Make it 2v2 or 4v4, where MLG rules matter, then you’ll play against good MLG people.
And also, the actual good players who play MLG regularly don’t play match-making. I doubt they were 40/suns or whatever you speak of if I sent them.
MLG doesn’t restict who joins their site so it’s possible that some n00b modders tired to challenge him. I was trying to set up a match with players who know and understand why MLG settings are the way they are.
Anyay, this is a dead subject for me. All I was asking is who that guy was that played him because I didn’t send him.
Sorry if I ressurected this topic.
By the way, our site had a makeover. Check it out. www.MLGPro.com
We have a new interview with Ogre 2 up and some more added specialties. Have a look around.
Why? Did I say 1v1 isn’t the best way to test individual skill? Do you even know why Rush is challenging MLG people? It’s not to prove he’s better than them, it’s to prove that he can beat them on their rules, and therefore to prove that MLG rules are scrubby if someone who doesn’t even play MLG rules beats someone who regularly plays MLG games. But he doesn’t understand that MLG players rely more on teamwork, thus making 1v1 useless. I’m sorry this argument isn’t gonna progress until you understand that MLG = teamwork, and that’s not something you can argue.
I actually challenged two other forums. Gamejunkie.com and joplinhalo.com, and I’m sure the word spread from there.
Sapphire is right. This isn’t to prove A is better then B. This is to prove that Halo 2 requires more skill then MLG. And I would go in with a team against MLG players, but, quite frankly, I don’t have a good enough team willing to stand up to MLG like I am.
You would think a clan from srk would strive to be the best
I disagree
I play customs and I sometimes play MM. I stopped playing MM ,because of the unfairness of some maps. What I mean by a board being unfair is the balance of the map. Like Colossuss(sp?) This map before br start was unbalanced. The game will be decided at the start of the match if two teams of equal value played. You wonder how can the game be decided like that? The team who spawned closes to the sniper would win. While retreating to red or blue they would control snipes. While having snipes two more teamates would have at least combos if not the rest of the team.
so thats
1 guy with snipes and br
three guys with combos(at best) ,and at worse one or two combos with the remaing guy with br shotty.
vs
team spawning because they lost the race to the sniper.
So they have smg start ,and maybe one or two with br’s
hella unfair.
But bungie kinda fixed this with br start. It’s just some maps have to have changes to be balanced. Thats just what MLG tries to do. I sometimes they don’t get it right ,but they keep trying. Bungie is at least now seeing some of the mistakes they’ve made. Also Halo Hump Day showed them the light also when they’ve gotten beaten at everyone by MLG.
So now maps like burial mounds aren’t as bad ,but then they add a wraith. Then it becomes a race to the wraith.
starting with smg/plasma rifle is just stupid.
Lets look at midship
Any team who gets control of both br’s is gonna go up big(again if both teams are equal). Also the team who gets combo first is gonna go up to just an awesome lead, while controling sword and respawning br’s.
double team midship is hella stupid also.
So I’m defending MLG ,because I’ve seen MM come down to the luck of the spawn too much. Not saying MLG sometimes doesn’t come down to the spawn. I lost a 2v2 and a 4v4 tourney in the winners and grand finals ,because we spawned in the blue room/elbow on lock out.
MLG is more skill ,because it gives both teams a equal chance all through out the match to win or lose. Never like MM where is hopeless unless someone fucks up greatly. If you play MM you’ve felt that feeling before.
If you’re a elite in MLG you have no problem in MM anyway ,but it’s not true the other way around. If you’ve noticed the pros or elites who play are either high levels in MM or level 1-22(you can get 22 in like 25 games)
Both gametypes require teamwork ,so thats just a common factor. If you go all rambo in either type you could win or lose the game for your team.
If you think I don’t know my stuff here some of my info.
I’ve played in 50k3 and 50k2 placing top 32
I’ve played in this past mlg nashville top 32 one match away from top 16
and I’m going to 50k4
I also play wit top players all the time. I’m just saying I’ve seen a lot.
also pros and peeps who think they’re pros won’t play with you unless you have a high level ,or you get invited to the room by a respected player. The halo community can be such assholes sometimes.
hmmm i know 80% maps on halo2 arent shaped evenly i think they should have evenness of waterwork and midship, not like headlong or lockout. how do they evenly divide the teams when the stages arent themself?
I love the the even maps including Midship. Lock out isnt that bad because you can basically see everybody on the map, even though it isnt symetrical(sp?).
But the most hated maps for me are the huge maps and Backwash. It has been the worse map for me and will forever be the worst map for me. No nades?!?! The fuck is that? And that damn smog just fucks with my eye. My hit % is usually around 45%. On Backwash, I average 30%.
On MLG setting lockout is pretty even execpt for the random spawns at the start.
2v2 or 4v4
Both bases are easily locked down ,but yet are easily takenover.
Snipe tower can be locked down by by 2 people on second floor snipe tower ,and one guy watching underneath standing on plasma spawn. 'While depending on where the action is the sniper roaming between the three floors.Mostly he’ll be on 3 floor(br tower 2floor library jumper and elbow) and 1st floor sniping people coming from under class and 1st floor br.
One of the guys will have either sword or shotty, most likely the sniper. Sometimes one or two guys will have a combo.
The Takeover is a lil tricky , because you kinda want the sniper to retreat to br tower ,but if you get him at snipes it’s a bonus. He’ll retreat alot quicker if the pressure is coming from under glass. So you want one guy to kinda think about this and cut him off 2nd floor library. If more than one or two guys get to 1st floor snipes he’s gone. Unless it just happens to be on spawn. Also having two guys rushing from library is pretty solid too ,cuz he can’t retreat to br. Still though two guys rushing from library one wit combo and two under neath is pretty sound. One guy rushing from under glass may have sword so that helps a lot. Just remember if you take a combo over there just try to make the best out of it. Just don’t hand them a free one ,because the two guys from in library will be stopping the overs from getting one also.
hope everyone knows the strat for locking and takeover for br tower
