Weeks: I do agree with you that no radar almost takes out crouching, but it does add a new element as Sapphire said. It forces you to have excellent teamwork which halo 2 is centered around.
Also I actually crouch a large amount of times in mlg games.
Example: Dude on sniper, me on top of BR tower. I have no shield so I croutch behind the little blocking thing on the left for a second, then I jump up and get 2 shots on him immediately killing him. In that time my teammates are telling me if anyone is coming behind me, what power weapons we have/they have, where they are located on the map, who has no shield on their team and where they are located, and/or where the power weapons were dropped. In MLG teamwork is vital unlike in MM settings where it is important, but not vital.

Edit: Also I want to add one more thing. Rush is a very good player, I know because I play with him very often. The one thing that Rush is extremely good at is sniping, BUT I don’t know how good he is in MLG games with sniper since the smg guy can’t do anything against the sniper, while a person who has a BR actually has a chance to live. I’m sure Rush would still be a very good sniper in MLG game types, but the other team will actually have a chance now.
Example: Today in Rumble pit I spawn on banshee pad in ascension. As soon as I spawn I see the sniper align his shot. He misses once, twice, three times, then FINALLY hits me for the headshot. Thing is if I spawned with a BR I could have had a chance, but when I spawn with an smg I basically have to jump and croutch and hope the guy can’t shoot you. You basically can’t do shit against a sniper or rocket or sword with an smg, unless the person who has that weapon is not even close to as good as you, or he makes a severe mistake.
Another example is on Warlock. If they spawn and get the BRs first its game. (Mind you I am talking about an organized team here, not just some randoms) They will take the tops, and just spawn rape you. The only thing you can do is either get lucky grenades, or hope that your smg + plasma rifle can take down the one dude, and then 4shot the other dude on the BR. Mind you, vs organized teams they try to get the top and just cover each other with BRs. With smg start you really can’t do that much. You may get 1 kill for every 2 they get, but that still doesn’t do shit.
The only match making games I play are team slayer, where I’m a 23. I was a 28 but I deranked on purpose it’s a long story. Next time I’m on I’ll get it back to 28 or higher.
As for the other stats, I only play Team Slayer, as I have stated before in earlier posts. The other matches are if my friends or if my little cousin comes over and wants to play online. I haven’t touched Rumble Pit since the game first came out last year, I have no idea where those stats came from.“dyces” or “Altron1x”
Yeah, uh, I actually do stuff rather than sit on srk and make friends. Maybe that’s why I’m good at what I do.
Let me get this straight. The game starts with MLG rules, your team makes their way to the weapons, sniper comes first, you guys get a hold of the sniper, make your way to set yourselves up on BR tower, grabbing the combo to use at the window to use on people jumping to BR tower from the bottom. So once you have this situation setup, this formation setup by your team through excellent organization/teamwork, it then becomes unfair/unbalanced? Why? Because your team was better in every way to get this setup, or even think of this setup as some people don’t know the possible good formations on lockout? What’s unbalanced in getting the weapons and setting up a formation where you can all watch each other’s back? What’s unfair about that? You obviously aren’t smart enough to think of ways to counter that setup, because there are ways to counter that formation, so I don’t see the slightest bit why it’s unfair/unbalanced.
Please explain rather than running away from the argument.
edit: It takes about 8-13 losses to derank from 28 to 23, take 13 away from your games played, making it 334. 167/334 = a winning ratio of 50%, and this is against people ranging from levels 1 - 33. That is not good. Maybe we should quit talking about strategy/teamwork/map control because you ain’t even good enough to know shit yet.
edit#2: Also quit the argument with saying to make the game truly balanced, everyone would have to start with the same weapon. If so, then why are you argument about SMG start vs. BR start? Here’s three simple spawn weapons in GENERAL and how it goes.
SMG start, unbalanced with the Ascension example I gave.
BR start, closest it can come to being balanced.
Sniper/RL start, balanced as fuck, everyone is godly, but defeats the purpose of power weapons and teamwork/strategy, which are the basis for MLG, which is why MLG would not have shit like spawning with a rocket launcher (remember, in GENERAL, which means not considering maps, as the example I gave with lockout vs. colossus power weapons start)

i dont mind playing either way…ive played enuff TS in MatchMaking to get myself use to all the weapon spawns/radar…i like the variables/variety in Halo 2 meaning weapons/sword…but one thing i cant stand is the fact that once a team gets the lead/power weapons, it is the same game plan after that for EVERY team…run and fucking camp in a corner…see what happens when players get a 3 kill lead on you in Lockout…they run directly to the sniper tower and camp with sword/combo/snipe…please, anyone can win like that…that isnt any fun waiting for people who want to actually have fun playing a game to run right by your camping ass only to get hammered in the back…
that is one of the reasons i support “no-radar”…most of the people who like radar on like to do the aformentioned and play with their eyes most of the time on their radar then on the playing screen…$20 says everyone who has taken my staement to heart comes in here crying that “they dont camp and dont check radar that often anyway”…no-radar gives the game 3 things:
A bite of reality: When the fuck does a war break out that you have a radar/motion sensor embeded into your visor
A way for campers to “get theirs”: campers hate it when they get smacked in the back of the head while doing what they know what to do best…camping…they’ll never see you coming and it adds the element of surprise
Faster gameplay: No more "crouching across the whole lower levels of the map to surprise the faggots holding down the top of the BR tower in lock out…run up there and fight…if i wanted to see bitches crouching, id tell my girlfriend to go take a piss behind the bushes, not play halo 2

Funny how you tell me I don’t know shit when you’re the one who doesn’t understand what you’ve been arguing yourself with Chief. We want to play Halo 2, but we want to play it somehow so that it’s balanced like Halo 1 -> MLG. That’s not the same as playing Halo 1. I could say I want to play Halo 2, but balanced like any other balanced FPS game, but I haven’t played any other FPS game deeply so I would not know which other FPS games are balanced. The point is we want balance to exist, the point is NOT that we want to play Halo 1. Easy.
Let me introduce fighting games in here, since you need extra precise examples to understand.
You see just like you said you can go to system direction to make 3S balanced, but by doing that, you are not wanting to play GGXX, which is a balanced fighting game, you are wanting to play 3S, but at a level where every character can be played competitively. That is exactly what MLG is doing for H2. It’s changing some settings to make the game balanced, the only reason H1 comes into the discussion is because of comparison purposes in terms of balance, not because we want to play H1.

Seriously though, whenever I was on with him, he went into two games with a single mlg player…I don’t rememeber one of them, but the other was PMS lily or something. she was willing to play but said, and i quote, “I’m just letting you know I’m feeling sick so I won’t be playing very good” and Rush said he didn’t want to play her unless she was going to be playing at her best (for obvious reasons, so she can’t use that as a buffer if she loses)
