SRK Car Thread (Show it off or ask questions)

Just buy a used car, especially if you are unsure of whether or not you finna up and move.

Dude, my qt3.14 coworker has a Tacoma V6 TRD. It’s a little bigger than the old school ones but they look clean. My advice in buying cars is, try it all out and see where it all ends up. For me, I was gonna buy a 2016 WRX but then the salesman was like, ā€œyeah, we got all this BRZ as non-moving inventory.ā€ I was like REALLY? ahem I mean, look maybe we can strike a deal.

Yo, according to Google, Corollas take 87 octane fuel. y u do that?

@regulate

Oho! Triple posting. I don’t really agree with that earlier statement about K24s being the best i4s on the market. I think VWs i4 put out higher numbers but whatever. My coworker’s V6 coupe hasn’t had a failure to coke buildup. Where is this coming from? Unless you put gasoline that’s off spec, you shouldn’t experience such problems.

My family drives a few Tundras and they are amazing. Also, the director of operations at my company came from Toyota and used to be their QA dude at their San Antonio plant which produces the Tundras and Tacomas. He now drives a Ford F150 now strangely and I asked him what his opinion was. He stated the the Tundras have higher ride quality and handling. The steel is also folded over one thousand times so if you get in a wreck, the truck will cut through other cars.

Tacomas and Tundras hold their value, if anything its ridiculous. When I was looking at tacos a while back, one that was 7 yrs old, with 100+ thousand miles, made my mind explode after looking at the price. But they are great trucks. I love my T100, I’ll probably restore it and keep it for ever.

Buuuut…American trucks are pretty much the only trucks worth buying. Except for maybe the Toyota T100, I wouldn’t buy a Japanese truck at all. Have you seen the new Ridgeline?

Meh.

I need to learn to drive stick. I want an infiniti g37

Yeah the new ridgeline is ugly, but so is the colorado/canyon twins and frontier. raptor,silverado/sierra twins/tundra are nice but too big and out of my budget once i factor in fuel.

@pedoviejo I did see an acadia on the road yesterday by chance, its a nice looking suv, i need to look at them and terrains when i free up some time. ive also looked at jukes (too small cockpit, not enough highway power) and rogues. rogues were nice, but lacked the power.

The Colorado/Canyon diesels get 31mpg.

thats great and all, but they look hideous. and when diesel fuel is cheaper than gas then ill consider it.

Dude. I would rice the fuck out of that Ridgeline. Honda Fanbou 4 lyfe

The thing what I don’t like a lot of the modern trucks is the lack of space in the bed. Some of them have similar storage capacity to a trunk of a Buick oldperson mobile. But I’m sure there are still options to having a large bed, but I sometimes wonder why the person that owns a truck with a tiny bed even bother having a truck to begin with?

Gonna have to my plans up some, noticed that the roof of my car really is starting to rust over.

people care more about towing. if you are going to be putting things in your bed, you probably buying a full size HD diesel.

I know how the chinese feel.

I went to winter nationals, and they where prepping top fuel dragsters. This one car was running so fucking lean that it was spitting out mountains a smog.

At first it smelled like propane, then it was hard to breath, then my nostrils and eyes burned, and then I was chocking and slowly suffocating. I feelz for you chinese folk.

It was pretty fucking baddass though,s eeing a machine go from 0-322 mph in times that high end sport cars do 0-60. The fastest time was 3.66, shit was glorious and the best part was the staduim shaking.

i did a thing…

I picked up the 16 EX coupe. Love it!

I’m considering buying a Juke NISMO or a Juke NISMO RS this summer as a daily. Does anybody have any idea how insurance gets quoted for those? I’m hoping they would both be looked as a car-based crossover than a sports car.

Sports car, that’s funny!

I was getting at if they would quote it like how they would a WRX or a HR-V. It’s a oddball car on the market but if I can get a cheaper insurance, even better.

put some 20’s on my accord coupe the other day. ill replace the rims later, just got some cheap decent ones to hold by cause of funds. will post pics later
