my car:
hereās mine 99 altima, just recently got tints. This was without emā tho
right now Iām looking for a paint job for cheap, and probably add some more customs.
Went to Florida last week and got a rent a car. I was shocked, but I really like the new Hyundai Sonata. Didnāt think too much when I pulled out, but running up and down 95 for a couple of days, the car rides smooth, has great space and didnāt feel cheap.
Hyundais are well made now. Good bang for the buck.
Im thinkin of getting a cheap pickup truck, any recommendations? Probably a Toyota Tacomaā¦
im going to have to give up my 1st car, 96 Civic
What is cheap? (buying used or new?)
Never bought a used car before, so probably new.

Hey guys, I need some help/advice. Iām not a car person. I need to buy a used car, not too old, for ten grand or under. Are there makes/models people would suggest in this price range? There are obviously a lot of used cars in LA, etc. Need something solid, dependable, no suv.
Thereās the obvious Honda and Toyota for reliability, although the style/form factor of both has gone down the drain. Obviously all but the worse treated ones shouldnāt leave you on the side of the road. You can look at Acura and Lexus, the high-class version of Honda/Toyota.
You could always try Hyundai, they have the best warranty, but you need to see how much of it transfers to you. Though the initial quality of the cars have gotten better, itād be best to read reviews on how theyāve held up after mileage. Also there is a depreciation factor that could work to your advantage.(and cost you later on)
Ford - definitely the best American mfr right now. Focus, Fiesta and Fusion all seem to be really solid.
If you dont mind going a little older(still under 10 years old), you can get a E46 BMW but Iām not sure of the reliability factor.
Iāve been proud owner of a vauxhall (opel) astra 3dr for about 6months now. Absolutely love the car.
It looks like this, except itās a 1.8litre, all black and single exhaust
Paid 11k, 2nd hand, 3 years old but it had only done 17k
That was released in the US as a Saturn.
those are like 14000 euros in europe now. how much did you pay for it?
also rcaido, is your car stock? my uncle owns a 09 335d that he let got tuned by bmw. hes got like almost 340 hp and almost 800 nm of torque. things almost as fast as the newest m3.
you can go with like a 2000-2001 3 series bmw, those are in that price range as well and very safe and good on gas.
my car ranges from 2001-2006 and there is coupe and convertible. I donāt know if the value of this car is lower over there but 14,000 euros is like a 2003 convertible or like a 2004 coupe with low-mid miles.
Also, your uncles car with the ātunedā specs you listed is still slower than my car stock. There is no way in hell its even close to the new M3. Unless you got your numbers messed up. Even the stock HP on a 335 is like 320hp. Bring in pics! I love BMWs
Are there any other peeps on here that love car audio? I used to compete, just donāt have the time to go to any sound offs anymore, here is my latest buildup with 2 15ās walled in a small sports carā¦ it hitās 154.2 db on a RTA Coustic 33
man im trying to get my hands on a pontiac g8 gt (commandore) counterpart of that but now way im playing 23 k for one.
Get a late 90ās Civic or Corolla. Ridiculously affordable, great on gas, plenty of parts for repairs, and lots available.
Those 2 are the best commuter cars of all time.
Thanks for the input guys. Any advice in terms of what to look out for when buying used in terms of red flags, titles, etc? Iāll probably do this through craigslist - anyone else ever bought a car through craigslist?
