What is he without the SHIELD? The pinnacle of human perfection. Even without the shield he would be able to cartwheel and somersault past every bullet and STILL jump kick engineer in the face. What can Engineer do without his turrets or guns? Be a fat construction worker.
Thing is, Cap has taken on many foes like the Engineer. Who rely on distance and guns. Cap sticks up his Shield and walks into the heat of battle with no fear. Engineer has never taken on someone that can compare to Cap.
Cap is like the speed of the scout, accuracy of the sniper, power of the demolition and absolute durability of a powered up heavy with a medic on his shoulders.

I guess you don’t know how long the lineage of the engineer goes. we’re going back to the mid 1800’s if you want to know the whole engineer history. since we’re going on the all version’s rule the original engineer was Nikoli Tesla. From there, we go all the way to the alt present of the 1960’s, not 1996 (where did you even get that number?)

going into the last of the update shows some of the other tools and weapons Engie has…nothing too crazy but the biggest thing to note is the Shield of Cap. Now as i said before no shield = death…why? well think about what the shield is made of…near indestructible metal. Think what would happen if Cap threw that at the Engie. he’d simply use that shield to build it into an indestructible Sentry and cap will be ripped apart before he can say “Final Justice”

the LAST thing you want to give Engie is metal for him to use. I admit that’s what he needs to make his sentries dispensers and teleporters but because that is what Cap fights with he’s already in a situation where he cannot get close to engie without the risk of losing his shield.

Peak human speed and strength can only do so much. As Heavy once said “I have yet to see someone outsmart bullet”

Or engie could just use Cap’s Shield to build a flying dispenser and laugh at cap because he cannot fly which provides infinite supplies. how? well that’s the power of science and technology!
