I’m thinking Alpha has absolutely no problems with fucking us over if we leave any NPC’s alive as we go to the next planet, as they’ll be the reinforcements for the new planet.
Why don’t we organize things for this phase, like we did in the last game? Everyone who wants to tell us what they’re scavenging tells us, and we make compromises, ensuring that everyone benefits.
Or we could just stab each other in the back, who knows.
I can’t even be mad. The nostalgia takes me back so hard. Thanks for that Alpha
Looking at the items it’s clear what’s going to be taken early and what Alpha’s trying to push us to do with this game. For all the attack you see, how much defense is there? Hell, there are literally only weapons and mods, no armor. The most instant defense (gain in one turn) a player can get is less than the most instant offense a player can get. Another thing to note, there are mods that cost over 10 bolts. That’s a minimum of three turns sitting and just digging for screws. Exterminators will drop bolts when they’re killed, but they won’t be around for a while. I believe that Alpha making the first phase double the bolts is a trap designed to tempt us with poor decisions. Of course, if someone’s ability were to double those further (0/4/8/12) then it’d definitely be worth getting the bolts now and a weapon later, and could pay off quite well in fact.
*I’m on board with ensuring that we all do the gentlemanly thing and arm ourselves on phase 1. NPC’s are coming tomorrow and the majority of our playerbase will have weapons.
We don’t know how the NPC’s will work, if they’ll have abilities and if so, which abilities they will have. We don’t even know if the NPC’s can be influenced by the sponsors, and if so, in what ways? Too much uncertainty and I’m sure most of us would actually like to, you know, actually have a chance at playing through the game.
With that said I’m eyeballing the B6, the wrench and the Mine Launcher. *
