The whole point of such an ability would be to secretly grab everything you want uncontested while no one bats an eye. Revealing the ability would only make you a target. More importantly, you would never need to reveal your ability to scare off others from an item, because you do not need to scare them off. You automatically win all contested scavenges before anyone else has a chance.
Therefore, we can conclude that you in fact do not have that ability. The prosecution rests.
Im 100% certain people with top-tier abilities shut the fuck up about their abilities until they need a fear deterrent. That isn’t a card you play on phase 2.
Dallas: "We interrupt this program to bring you breaking news! Juanita: "Thank you, Dallas. Contestant Missing Person has managed to hack into the weapon vendor and has stolen the Nanobots!" Dallas: "Is that even legal, Juanita?" Juanita: "Everything’s legal in Dreadzone, Dallas." Dallas: “Tune in tonight to see how Missing Person uses his advantage! And now back to your regularly scheduled broadcasting of eSports.”
Interesting. Im guessing that is a one-off though.
EDIT: I also doubt sponsors had anything to with it. Using the first two games as a template for my guess work, it must be announced by a GM when a sponsors interferes in the game.
But he made no mention of a sponsor. It could very well just be MP’s ability but because it takes place during action decision time, it still has to be illustrated.
@AlphaCommando can you comment on if that was a sponsor? Or are we debating an assumed rule that you didnt implement?
