Another Chrono Trigger would be hard. Hasn’t the “dream team” mostly moved on, now? I still have hoped for AGES that they would make a proper sequel to Chrono Trigger. With lots of fucking time travel. And not a shitty rip off of a text adventure, that barely featured the OG cast.

I went a different route instead of making a new game spend the time removing all traces of FF 13 and it’s spin offs from our stores and minds. Bonus points if the do it for 8 as well.
I voted for the tech demo version of the Bouncer that was originally shown, during the PS2 (or maybe it was the Emotion Engine reveal?) instead of what we got with the retail version of the Bouncer.
For a real answer, go back to Chrono Cross and actually finish it. Matter of fact, add Radical Dreamers to it so people know how the hell we got there.
Combine the best two things you ever made (Chrono Trigger and FFTactics) into one supergame to rule them all.

As for a serious post, I think the game that deserves a real followup the most is Xenogears. The universe was so incredibly rich and had so much potential that it was a huge shame it was never truly followed up on.
Actually I thought they would make a new chrono game once square and enix merged. Reason why is cause some of the people who made dragon quest worked on chrono trigger. They could also just remake chrono trigger in 3D for next gen.
Personally i told them that FFXI was amazing but in need of some attention again, particularily server merge action to shore up the populations on servers.
