That’s not really a safe jump against delayed wake up.
One setup against Guy for e.g: Forward throw, dash, mp.tk feint, sj.fp
Possible situations in usf after the forward throw, including the delayed wakeup (+11f) and the fp.tk feint nerf (+1f recovery, 11f now in total)
Throw, dash, mp.tk feint, sj.fp > Guy normal wakeup > Safe jump
Throw, dash, mp.tk feint, sj.fp > Guy delayed wakeup > You arrive too early, enjoy the landscape. IABK or whatever.
Throw, dash, mp.tk feint, fp.tk feint, sj.fp > Guy normal wakeup > Alter trajectory with lk.bk, if you commited to the jump
Throw, dash, mp.tk feint, fp.tk feint, sj.fp > Guy delayed wakeup > Safe jump
Four possible situations following the throw.
You have to either change the existing setups by adding the 11f from the fp.tk against the 11f delayed wakeup,
or replace them with similar lasting moves.
I just realized that the hptk feint nerf means we lost our fake safejump setup against 3 frame reversals and is also why I keep getting hit out of it when I wouldn’t before; you now have to buffer the QCB in the dash when doing safejump setups Involving hptk feint.
@Mohako fierce feint still works for 4 frame reversals but you now have to buffer the QCB during the dash. I really liked the fake safejump setup though.
Marvel Viper’s so much more fun to play. How sad. I never thought I’d ever learn a versus game.
I remember coming up with shit for this character back in the day used to be fun. Now it kinda feels like a chore.
I’m just persistently waiting for KoFXI to come on PSN/XBLA. It did have a PS2 release, so I’m hoping it’ll see a new gen port.
I’ll miss you guys. <3
PS: Every time I’ve been going to a friend’s and they want to play the game, I pick poison and win effortlessly. Fuck having to churn the stick and roll your face across the buttons when you can just do FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL AA FIREBALL AA FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL AA FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL FIREBALL
With the usual amount of technical how-to questions that are here on the forums, I was thinking of making a new tut series. Upon looking into other tutorials on YouTube, all the how-to tutorials are all ass except for zejoeh’s feint guide and I guess Jayce’s guide. Either the tutorial is being recorded from a CRT in the dark or isn’t very professional / scripted.
I would want to:
have it recorded in 720p 60 fps (like I regularly do)
have a camera on my fightstick / hands, as well as record the sounds of the button presses
have as little text on the screen as possible, so I might have to record my voice
include multiple methods of input
I would try to cover all of the common questions that spring up in Q&A, along with those lovely people that make their own topic.
FFF
IA BKs
low trajectory BKs
meterless FADC
SJC U1
seismo chains
feints (including SJC TK feints)
etc
Do you guys think that it would be best to make another tut series or just make one big video? If it were to be a video series, I would imagine each video would be anywhere from 2 1/2 minutes to 5. Thoughts?
Any tips of the 2nd F on FFF after the feint? I used to FFF all the time … but suddenly now the 2nd F doesn’t link after the feint…it comes out really slow even if I double tap it.
The link is a little different due to the 1F increase to fp.TK feint Plinking WOULD be the best way to get it more consistently but it’s still more than a 1 frame link so its not terribly hard to time.
Should we have a new thread for Ultra? Besides her specific Ultra changes, I’d like to discuss Viper’s options for dealing with delayed wakeup in depth ie: possible new ways of safejumping 4 frame reversals, things she might be able to do to allow herself to confirm the “technical” message, etc. Also to discuss the current state of high level Viper play, dissect Ultra matchups now that the game relies more heavily on the neutral grounded aspect, and analyze high level match videos.
Bruh… how the fuck do you fight Dictator with Viper? This seriously has to be her worst match-up. I literally feel like against a solid Bison you can’t do anything. He owns her air to air, better pokes, random HKs snuff so much of her shit. He just gets to bully her basically. He always has at least one meter, so even if you get a knockdown, he just does whatever EX move he wants to get out. I’ve went and looked at all the Vipers(Tonpy, Uryo, Dashio, Sabo Hani, etc) and even most of their matches against Dictator looked painful and like such a struggle.
