You hit DF then hit DF again when doing your QCB. (shitty SF4 shortcuts)
You were crossed up.
Your execution sucks
Ahhhh ok, it’s an execution/comfort problem. Only thing to do then is spend the time with it. If you’re finding Viper too hard on a stick, switch to shoto for a while to get your hands use to everything (should take 1-2wks,) then Viper should be butter.
As far as EX moves on accidents, try not to rest your fingers on the buttons until you’re comfy with it. Use 2-3 fingers for all buttons.
I should have clarified when the problem occurs lol
it occasionally happens during the corner combo Ex Seismo Sj Burning kick into HP Knuckle (i get fierce seismo here)
This game is really weird…because in no way should QCB motions EVER register as a DP motion. I had nightmares with Seth (fullscreen SPD when going for Sonic boom)
So i blame both the shortcuts and my execution. I would prefer a moving NOT coming out then getting an entirely different move
Yea, that DP shortcut is teh ghey, it fucks me up more than help me.
I can’t understand how :df::d::df: would present itself as a DP. When I first got the game I remember :r::d::df: would work like 2/5 times and the rest I’d get a Hadouken. However :df::d::df: would work EVERY time.
I miss 3rd Strike.
BTW, I know me and a few other of the XBL Vipers i’ve played have this problem.
When standing on P2 side and going for Seismo but getting Super instead. I KNOW this has to be a Viper glitch of some sorts because I’ve sat in training mode and watched my inputs exactly and I had sooooo many Seismo inputs come out as Supers, nothing remotely close to QCFx2
I have the problem of accidentally doing super too, except on both sides
I’ve had to resort to :df::d::df: when I’m doing cr. hp to ex seismo because of this.
It’s kind of ironic though, Viper’s execution heavy but the shortcuts that are supposed to help it end up screwing it up half the time.
That stuff happens to me all the time on both sides. Sometimes when I want an Ex Seismo, I’ll get Super and get punished for it.
FFF>Seismo execution has gone down the drain recently so I’m going to practice that. Using Viper online is a real pain, I might hook up with some of my friends for some offline casuals because I really hate online now.
Close EX seismo, SJCd HP knuckle, ultra works on medium to big size chars. midscreen and everyone in the corner but its not really practical in the corner. its not hard in game either. I got it on a sagat on xbl.
and i was tryin out cr.HP, EX seismo, SJC, EX knuckle, ultra but I wasn’t hitting it. it feels like its possible though but I guess that’s just me.
didnt wanna post these in the combo thread yet because theyre pretty much experimental combos. what do you guys thing.
Good job on finding something new. Just wondering though (because I can’t test it right now) wouldn’t the SJCd hp knuckle scale the damage a bit? I’m just wondering if it’d be worth it because close ex seismo can be linked to ultra by itself.
Don’t worry, this is part of the process, lol. Plus online just messes everything up. You wouldn’t believe the stupid shit I lose to, lol. And you’re not alone when it comes to Sagats, Hondas and Blankas, Sagats annoy me and the other two are bad match-ups for Viper, especially Honda who pretty much shuts her down.
not sure if its been discussed before, but on crossup j.hk viper cant do FFF(they get pushed back too far for the second fierce). so what i normally do is FFMK(fierce feint cr.mk), into whatever i have enough meter for. the one thing you can’t do off of this is ultra, as you’re pushed too far back for the second part of the ultra to hit
actually, thats what i meant about not being able to combo into ultra. sadly you’re just way too pushed back for the ultra to fully connect, after the first hit viper will just fly into space without them
moga, a really cool thing with crossup BK is doing it on their wakeup at last minute, when their back is against the wall. the opponent will still fly into the corner even though you crossed them up, which leads into free ultra. the best part is you get a free FFF if they try to wakeup dp, which will probably end in ultra anyways
You can just do RH straight up, I dont think you need a standing fierce, but standing fierce does make it so it doesnt push back too much. Depending on how and where you are on screen, cr. FFF works too.
I just tried it out and EX seismo, SJCd hp tk, ultra does do 15 more damage and seems to be easier to execute than EX seismo to ultra.
I forgot to check if it’s character specific though, sorry
