I first tried shortcutting it this way too and it was simply too inconsistent, if you can input a shoryuken movement fast enough my way makes FFF easy mode.
Yeah, now I’m beginning to find this inconsistent as well. It was okay for some time, but now it’s beginning to flop. I might avoid short cuts altogether when doing FFF
It stands for Fierce Feint Fierce. In a nutshell, it’s st.hp/cr.hp, hp.thunder knuckle feint, cr.hp. A very good combo and you can follow it up with either an ex seismo or thunder knuckle.
I’m starting to win more finals in G2, which is good. However, I don’t think I’ll advance any further in terms on GP because
For some reason, I’m having trouble finding matches even when I create rooms. It takes me all day to find one.
Connection keeps cutting out and I have to start all over again. It also seems to do it at the most inconvenient times, for example, I perfected a Sagat and it cut out. I lose a round and it cuts out, making it look like a ragequit and I’ve had to send apologies to several players to avoid looking like a ragequitter. Now I’ve got like a 4% disconnect ratio because of that garbage. I hate PSN…
my problem is knowing when to use FFF. Whenever I try to pull it out I end up getting smacked around pretty bad. Its obviously not good to do on wakeup… hah. But its a matter of when to punish with it. aside from SRK and dizzy.
After you connect a frontal jump in attack and you want maximum damage/stun. It’s also a pretty safe block string IIRC. Other than that…just save it for punishment. There’s nothing really hard about knowing when to use it…it’s basically when you come to a situation where you know you can throw it out and do damage. It’s also not bad on counter hit situations like ticking someone who is blocking with s.LP or s.LK and then throwing out FFF to counter their next attack.
I think an issue I have with it is I have to THINK about doing it. Like i’ll be in a match and I’ll be constantly looking for a place to use it, instead of using it on reaction.
That’s funny, offline I’m sure it is, online, haha! I get grabbed out of my cr.hp before it even gets to connects on block or get supered inbetween. I hate online.
I’ll take on that challenge, lol. Let’s see how it goes.
Oh yeah, that reminds me, I’ve got a French Viper player called Swalack on my friends list, he’s pretty good. Keep an eye out for him online.
My vote for people having trouble in G2… just play conservative and don’t worry about FFF, learn all her little niches and just play solid… basically how combofiend played in the sbo quals.
FFF is the last thing you should implement into your game. I went too 8k gp without FFF, I now have 14.5k gp and I have like 60 finals and 20 runner ups (just a guess since I haven’t played in like 5 days, but it is somewhere around there.)
then after your good, spend one night getting frustrated trying too learn the FFF then wake up in the morning and perform it like no other (this is usually how learning something difficult works for me haha.)
Haha. When I read that first sentence I was thinking, she has footsies? Seriously though what footsies does she have? The only thing I can think of is cr. mk as a poke.
FFF is only useful if you actually know its safe to use it otherwise you most likely have alot safer options.
What’s a footsie XD.
By the way she has cr.lk and cr.lp as a poke you can land cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lp, cr.lk, cr.lk into w/e you want, I usually just go into w/e I’ve conditioned them to do >_< EX Seismo anyone?
This is how my brain learns, for like 30 minutes practice FFF, 10 mins watch TV, 30 minutes practice FFF, 10 mins watch TV and so on and so forth, its gets the muscle to remember easier. That’s how I learned Viper cough easily >_> it took me 7 hours to be able to consistently get down FFF.
I’m starting to get rapid varying feints down, but i’m using light tk to it tto start off though but I’m starting to see how dashio does it lp tk feint, mp seismo, sjc ex seismo, mp seismo that’s how pros do it XD.
Coos how do you insta bk after sj lk bk? I can’t do it fast enough XD.
Online, I rarely go for FFF anymore, it’s not needed online. Like you guys said, it’s just better to play solid and utilize footsies which is getting me a lot more wins in G2 now.
That being said, it’s saved my life once. I was playing a friend who uses Ken and he was about to win the last round. He whiffed Shoryuken. Big mistake, I hit him with FFF ex seismo sj burning kick which pushes him into the corner and land ultra to take the match.
A couple nights ago I came to the conclusion that I should learn FFF
…
That shit is the difference between getting that oh-so-sweet stun, or letting your opponent’s stock refill. Really, just chill in training mode for 1 hour, then try to get out as many as possible during online play. Even if you lose trying to get them out, you’ll eventually get a 90% rate(at the least)
Since I’ve grinded out FFF, I’ve started using HP feint for normal gameplay. Once you get past the fear hump, HP feint makes every hit so much scarier
I can land FFF with pretty damn good consistency now. I think I need to start working on my spacing and shit because I know my spacing is garbage. I hardly even play online. I think I have like 1100gp and i’m still G3-A. I usually just sit in training mode and fight my friends offline, but fighting Blanka, Cammy, Dictator, and Abel over and over and over is growing stale.
Another thing. I don’t think i’ve ever seen it mentioned here before but c.lp and c.lk go into ex BK. neat.
I’ve never done FFF online…
several reasons:
I don’t have a high percentage success rate with it yet, it’s already laggy online and FFF is probably one of the harder combos (precise timing-wise) combo in the game. Also I want to learn the match-ups, as I never really “needed” to perform it. I took a step back from playing a reckless viper and a more conservative, not so flashy form of it, observing my opponents and such. I think it’s more important to learn that first, and then when you have the FFF execution down, you can punish accordingly at higher level play. You really don’t need to punish with FFF against flowchart kens/sagats cuz you know they’ll fierce dragon punch in the next 3 seconds again…
