Nobody in Springfield really plays anything pre-SF4 seriously, but we definitely throw down in those games from time to time. As for GG, it never quite caught on here, but we do have quite a few BB players (though most of us are waiting for CS to drop before picking it up again). Yes, every Monday night at Meta-Games we play from about 6:30 - until close (10pm), later if they let us. You should come out, 3$ dollar SSF4 tourneys and casuals on a variety of games.
Also Rex, can’t go up to KC because I’m visiting relatives in Arkansas/attending A.R.K. this weekend. MaxOut sounds hype as shit. I’m really busy lately trying to finish a house so I can move in there, or else I would have come to battle camp last weekend. Whenever I can get free, I’ll be up there to play.
Last call for our ARK II tournament in Conway, AR on July 31st. We are hosting tournies in Super Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6, Melee, Brawl, BlazBlue: CS, HDR, TvC, and a Mystery Game tournament! Our last tournament had over 70 players from five different states with a total prize pool of over $1000. This tournament is looking to be bigger and better than the last one! We already have some MO gamers (like Warden) coming in for Street Fighter and we’d love to have even more come in to win some money or have a good time.

Yeah, I’d love to come to a pre-tourney hookup, but I work until 11PM on weekdays, so I wouldn’t make it until about 1:30AM if I left straight from work. And I know I’ll be at the next max out for sure, will try to get the crew up there again as well.

Hey, sorry if I’m a little late to the party, but I just joined the site 
I actually live in Greenfield, about 45 miles north of you all, but I’m in Springfield constantly for work and play both. I play mostly SSF4 and the Smash games, but I’ll learn whatever game is up just to find a darn crowd of fighter players! (You think the Springfield scene is rough? Try Greenfield! I think I’m literally the only one there that touches fighters xD)

GG’s torrey, a few glaring things you should work on:
You cross up meaty everytime you can, this is a free auto correct dp everytime you do. If you wanna go for the cross up, at least wait so the auto correct isnt 100% fray. Pause and throw off the timing, but even then its risky.
Also i noticed, likely made worse by playing online, that your doing alot of unsafe stuff on a geuss when you can do it on reaction. Like gief ex hand and thawk dive, don’t do those unless you see the fireball- you have time you just gotta learn to trust yourself.
Be carefull of getting too predictable too, u seem to fly on autopilot a little bit and that stuff just wont work vs better players. Like spd after every ex hawk move, leaves u open for a full jump in combo. You would ex dp on wakeup everytime i made it look like i was going to jump your wakeup spd, don’t be afraid to block or just backdash on wakeup.
Good spacing on hawk dive into spd though, and good dp punish with the ultra. See yah in kc this weekend?
Cool, thanks bro, and ggs. Yeah, online and grapplers (well, online in general really) isn’t the best practice for serious play, but it’s all I really have on a good constant basis. I did kinda get the feeling that I got away with some shit that really wouldn’t fly in a real match, but all in all, definitely some good point there for me to take into account.
Oh, you’re not too late at all, I think I’m really the only one around here who actually posts on SRK on a regular basis, so it does make the area look pretty empty. There’s about 4-8 of us that get together monday nights at Meta Games around 7PM and play until the store closes at 10.
